They going to hold it at Brooks? That only seats like 15k people.

Kind of a downer if we end up in a bowl played in a stadium smaller than any we play in all year. Guess an upside would be that it would look like last Saturday

isn't it supposed to get to 19k or something? I'd rather play in a full 19k stadium than to have 25k in 50k seat stadium.

Most bowls are not well attended. This one is at least a better location for our fan base to drive to and a more desirable location that time of year. Based on the info I saw from Ethan the Sun Belt will still have 5 bowl tie-ins, which means one of the current bowls will get dropped. With the current geographic footprint, I'm guessing it's the Arizona Bowl that gets dropped. I haven't seen any dates being thrown around yet. My preference is the week between Christmas and New Years. Time will tell.

As part of their move to FBS, CCU is expanding Brooks to 20k. I believe it's currently under construction and would guess it'll be completed by the time 2020 rolls around in time for a MB Bowl. Besides the obvious of being on the mother-ship, the 3 things I'd like to see happen with a new Sun Belt bowl are:
1) have a decent payout somewhere between NO ($500k) and DG ($750k)
2) play the game after Christmas, between Dec. 27th-30th
3) rotating match-up of SB-east v CUSA-east/AAC/low end ACC

We should be hosting the SunBelt Conf Championship game every year moving forward..... we will rename it the Elevation Bowl.
On a serious note, a trip to Myrtle Beach for a bowl game is much easier for me than LA or Bama

Yes, I was told it was a swap out .The beach is not a bad place to spend the Christmas Season. No drive through Atlanta=winner.

You would think Coastal would get it automatically when they’re bowl eligible kind of like UL automatically gets the the New Orleans bowl (unofficially). I think with our name recognition we’re not at risk of being left out but one of these years someone bowl eligible will be left out.

Would Coastal really want to play a bowl game in their own stadium??

I'd imagine Coastal, Georgia Southern and App will have a lot of appearances. It'd be cool for it to eventually become the premiere bowl of the SunBelt.

I know we'd want to play a bowl game at
The Rock.
Home game, large attendance by our teams fans, get profits/ticket sales, lots of up sides.
I'm sure costal would feel the same way.

I like it. Plenty of good food and no drive through Atlanta. Thinking it will be the first week , or two , of Bowl Season.

For teams with small fanbases, Montgomery was a very welcoming host city. I'll never understand all this "we're so much better than".

Would make sense for this to be during the week after Christmas. Many folks are off and would be likely to spend extra time there. Otherwise people will just go for the game and hurry home for Christmas.

Serious question, how does it hurt us to have bowl options? We’re likely losing one or more of our tie ins after 2019.
