Thank you everyone for continuing to come to the Cabin and make it the best Appalachian State athletics forum available for fans to come and talk about our beloved Mountaineers! This is completely free for everyone and has traditionally been supported by ads to help us cover the ever increasing costs of maintaining the site and adding server capacity as the message board grows.

Some of you may have noticed that at the end of June, all ads in all forms went away. This is a PERMANENT change to Yosef's Cabin. I'm very excited to be able to commit that we will no longer have any ads on this site. Many of the users have suggested moving to a donation model and so that is what we have done. For anyone that feels like you get value out of the site, I'd ask that you donate to help keep the Cabin going. You will now see a 'donate' button on the left hand side of the forum.

Going forward, we'll do one donation drive a year and that will be it. We will not hound anyone for donations. To be clear, donations are not required and everyone will continue to enjoy the same access regardless of whether you donate or not. Donations are only intended to help offset some of the costs associated with the site.

Maybe set up a goal and show when we've reached it?

A simple donation equation:

x / 100 = y

x = total # of posts
y = your donation total

Knowing the number of active posters, what would be the cost per active poster to have you break even on YC? Or maybe a better question is what would the cost be per active poster to meet your annual goal which does not seem to be even break even on the expenses?
