**FRI UPDATE** APP STATE / GARDNER-WEBB WX Trend

Unread post by WXAPP » Tue Sep 18, 2018 1:36 pm

***FRIDAY UPDATE***

Wish I had better news... But, pack the rain gear. You'll likely encounter a few showers during the late afternoon and evening hours. Can't rule out a storm or two either.

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

-----------------------------

***Wednesday PM UPDATE****

So.. here's the deal.... A stationary front will in the area. How close the boundary sets up near Boone, will greatly dictate what we see for the day. The further North, more W.VA and N.VA, the less active shower / storm action we should see. If the boundary is further South, close to Boone... well, it will be active with showers and storms moving through the area. I don't see a wash out, but, yeah, keep the rain gear with ya.

It's our first home game, it's Boone, it's the ROCK...Come on out, we've been through worse weather scenarios for games, and the crowds have been big! Time for the App State family to assemble, support our players and catch up with each other. Heck you can nail down who's bringing what for homecoming the next weekend!

8 AM - Partly cloudy, small chance for a passing sprinkle. Lower to mid 60s.

NOON - Partly sunny, small chance for a shower, mid 70s.

KICKOFF - Partly to mostly cloudy, chance for a shower / storm, mid 70s

HALFTIME - Partly to mostly cloudy, chance for a shower / storm, mid 70s.

END OF GAME - Partly to mostly cloudy, chance for a shower / storm, lower 70s.

As always...

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

---------------------

Looking forward the getting back to football after the Florence disruption. For those in Eastern NC, if making the trip to Boone, keep in mind flooding is ongoing for many rivers in Eastern / Southeastern NC. Passable travel routes may change so please keep checking with NCDCOT on what's closed and or open.

-------------------

The early take for Saturday's game is one of increasing clouds, mid 70s and a chance for rain. Timing of all of this, well, a bit early for me to pin it down. I'll update later Wednesday as models get a few more runs under their belt.

On the upside, no hurricanes; of that, I am 100% sure. So, we have that going for us.

GO MOUNTAINEERS!

If I weren't working, I'd be going to the game. I don't see this as a wash out for the game or festivities prior.

I think I'd prefer work over having to sit at a wedding during the game.
