I was thinking of this in terms of UNCC. I guess this makes ODU #12 in the country and Charlotte #11. Since we beat Charlotte we can claim #10 and I do think Penn St is #9 in some polls so all the math works out just right.

As a long time resident of Richmond VA, where everyone I know is either a Hokie Pokie, Wahoo, Purple Dukie, or whatever you call ODU fans, this Monarch win is a BIG deal. Particularly since a lot of VT and UVA fans I know are not happy about all these games in Norfolk and Lynchburg the two state powers have agreed to play in coming years.

Also, a top-15 ranked VT has now been upset by in-state "lesser" programs twice in a decade, after being the second ranked FBS team to lose to an FCS squad when JMU knocked them off 8 or so years back.

Yep. Moreso in Southside. Hell, they all pull for Tech, and will have excuses galore for this one, as to them the Chokies have never lost a game. They’re kind of like CHeat fans. Especially the ones who need GPS and the North Star to find campus.

A bigger question exists- how bad is Florida State? I think we are just potentially REALLY good. I just don’t think any of us can completely grasp it. We were a very dominant FCS program and transitioned nicely but perhaps we are just loaded now. Personally I believe we are genuinely a top 30 team right now.

We were a very dominant FCS program and transitioned nicely but perhaps we are just loaded now. Personally I believe we are genuinely a top 30 team right now.

Very true but seriously if Penn State is legit top 10 we are still probably top 20 material. Time will tell but damn how the hell does a team who lost to Charlotte ( who sucks) beat a VT? The ESPN write up of course says the the Hokies were flat and the ECU game cancelled, blah blah blah. That was a stunner even with a backup QB slinging it all over the field.

Liberty is losing to UNT right now so their position is UNT ranking +1. My methodology is not logical but neither is Liberty so it is all fair.

(I have a daughter that is dating someone taking some online classes at Liberty. He is a decent guy it seems, and I am tempering my thoughts about Liberty just a tad.)

I know a lot of Liberty folks up here. Many of them are cool. Some are, well, not.

He is taking online classes so I appreciate the effort he is putting in. I do wish it was somewhere a bit more "legit" especially the online part, but again everyone has to find their path in life and better this than not trying to better himself. It's not in creation science at least.

At the end of the day I'll take a daughter with a decent boyfriend taking classes through Liberty over an a-hole that attends App State as I am sure even App State has a few men on campus that are not what I would want any of my three daughters dating.
