5. Zac Thomas, Appalachian State
Thomas kicked off the season by putting a scare into Penn State before going 14-for-14 for 295 yards against Charlotte last week. He littered the field with big-time throws against Penn State, particularly up the sideline, where the Nittany Lions' tight coverage was no match for Thomas' accuracy.
With only 11 drop-backs to his name coming into the season, Thomas is off to a great start, with the No. 7 passing grade in the nation at 90.7.

And all we heard was Penn State defense didn’t play good enough.
Anybody who said that didn’t see the game and how accurate the throws were and good catches the receivers made.
