As an Appalachian alum and fan, I have never been as excited about the product we have on the field currently. Keep rising baby! I say it's Great to Be a Mountaineer!
With this said I don't put much stock, just as many, in early polling, but certainly is sweet to see we are currently considered by some to be the 4th ranked G5 conference team in the nation on the FBS level.
11 - UCF
22 - South Florida
27 - Boise State
30 - APPALACHIAN STATE (and we are coming and bringing the door with us)

Up 10 spots since last week. Beat stAte and we should jump a few more spots.
My only concern is playing one of our best games on a Tuesday night. We'll two two days after the week 7 polls come out and 4 days ahead of the actual week 7 games. I would hope, considering the buzz we've been getting lately, that poll voters would be watching but I fear we could fall victim to a little bit of out of sight out of mind.
