It's showdown time for App State — on a Tuesday
What's a normal Tuesday activity for you guys?
It's probably recycling day for some, so you'll need to pull your recycling bins back into the garage. Others will have to take some kiddos to a soccer game or something. And a few of you might be hitting up a local trivia night somewhere (speaking of which, anybody got any Winston-Salem suggestions?).
Good grief, Ethan, what are you rambling about? I'm getting there, OK? Just give me another sentence or two. What I'm saying is you expect the ordinary on Tuesday afternoons. You hit the routines. And there's nothing routine about this Tuesday for Appalachian State fans.
It's showdown time for App State and Arkansas State. And at this point, there's not really much more to say about the importance of this game. And the Mountaineers' resume could use another quality win at this point. Dominant showings against Charlotte, Gardner-Webb and South Alabama proved that the team can perform well against inferior opponents. But a win here (especially a big one) determines a new echelon for Appalachian.
The East Division of the Sun Belt has already proven to be stronger than expected. App State (3-1, 1-0 Sun Belt) and Troy (5-1, 3-0) are rolling, and Georgia Southern (4-1, 2-0) appears to be a team that could ruin anyone's season. Meanwhile, the West Division is led by Louisiana (2-3, 1-1) while Arkansas State (3-2, 0-1) lost its conference debut to the Eagles' option attack.
