Congratulations

Very nice win for Appy. They brought their "A" game, especially on defense. Took us out of everything although Hansen could never really find a groove tonight. Very solid performance from the Mountaineers. Love your QB, gonna be a very nice one for you guys going forward. Really hated to to see Moore go down like that. I never like to see anyone get hurt and miss the rest of the season and from what I heard he is a good kid. We have a lot of work to do in Jonesboro. Starts with the head coach. We just aren't very good right now on offense. stAte defense played well outside of a few plays but its just almost impossible to hold a team like App down too long, they were bound to hit a few big plays.

Satterfield has been like a finetuned boxer- He bobs and weaves, throws a few jabs to see how the opponent reacts..... and once he sees how he can expose you, he attacks. What you see as big plays are calculated attacks set up by the early jabs. Satt is an unbelievable coach.
He clearly respected your defense enough that it took almost 2 full quarters

Hansen looked like a bad pick for preseason POY. He telegraphed his passes and its a wonder we didn't have 6 INTs. He looked statuesque and very pedestrian.

Not to pick apart a great road conference win but we didn’t look great on offense. That being said we missed a relatively easy FG and had we been sharper it’s a 45-9 blowout at least. Can’t see another close game until Troy. Heck they loaded the box all game and we still rushed for 246 yards. Got to be a nightmare trying to gameplan us.

My guess is they don't like being called Arky either. Hard to complain when quite a few of our folks refer to them in that manner.

I think Georgia Southern will be a challenge because it'll be like the Super Bowl for them and they seem to have improved with Sloan down there.

I started at App in the Fall of 1984. I was home for Christmas and ran into a friend who was a freshman at Milligan over in Tennessee. He asked where I was in school and I said Appalachian State. He said, oh Appy State, that's cool. It pissed me off then and it pisses me off now.

At this point, we really should just embrace Appy State, happy Appy, and all other monikers. At the end of the day, no matter what we're called, we're still one of the best teams in the conference and if the biggest jab other schools can take at us is adding a Y to the end of our name, I think we can count our lucky stars.
