Rubino who missed the FG

Unread post by appst1979 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 11:44 am

I notice from the official stats last night that Rubino was the kicker for the missed FG. Curious to why Staton was not in there to attempt the FG?

Thought the announcers on tv said Staton.

Either way holder had a big part of that miss.

“Official” stats are often wrong. Staton kicked it and all others except kickoffs.

Yeah it was Staton, regardless of what the stats say. He did kick it on the laces, it's pretty clear form the replay. It'd be the holder.

Nothing against Subotsch, but Speir is listed as the #2 holder and I have always liked going with a backup QB in that position. I just like having that element of the other team knowing that there's a QB there that can pick it up and throw it at anytime.

He has rarely spun the ball to make sure the laces are out this year.. noticed it every week starting with the Penn State game... one of the ONLY TIMES he chooses to spin the ball..... he spins it the wrong way.. DOH!

Can’t take a chance on a Southern Hemisphere holder. They’ll spin the laces the wrong way every time.
