Can we protest or something. I'm tired and feel like I have to go through 2 bye weeks without App football.
Luckily I'm complaining about this as opposed to the Ark St board.

It definitely makes for long gaps between games.
I vote no more Tuesday games either.
Watched the post game StAte of Anderson and the QB.
I am thankful that we are not in that boat.
Anderson seemed to own it.
The QB acted like a spoiled kid. They are all kids but he seemed to lack a bit of maturity.

Tuesday night games blow. They don’t make the conference look good....they make it look silly.
Supposedly, ESPN makes the Sun Belt “an offer you can’t refuse.” I’d like to see the numbers to see just what sort of deal it is. Arkansas State gets screwed out of what would likely been one of their best crowds ever just to have a game televised on a Tuesday vs the MLB playoffs. It’s tough enough to grow a fan base with a Sun Belt schedule and then they put all the good matchups on weeknights. #footballisforsaturdays

I said the following in the ESPN topic thread....

ESPN2 experience is Not worth it IMO. No conference should be told to play on a Tuesday Night. Stay with ESPN+ and stick with football on Saturday.

Rather play on Tuesday than Thursday. At least you don't play on four days' rest, plus no NFL or P5 competition.

Kind of remind you of some kid named Riddle down towards Burlington?

Plus we get exposure to pollsters.

Just hope the pollsters watched the whole game. We didn't look great in the 1st half.

Hopefully the score will help some. We held them to 0 TD's.

As long as we’re successful we will receive two mid-week games a year.
Preference:
Tuesday away
Thursday away
Thursday home
Tuesday away

I don't know what the griping and whining is about. We all knew we would likely be playing week day games when we moved up. I don't like weekday games, but it's part of the price we paid, which over all has been worth it.

Things have changed since then, but ESPN is still a monopoly. At least we don't have to play weekday games against the stink on that obscure ESPNU channel anymore. I still remember some of the gullible folks around here thinking that was valuable exposure. I would like to know what recruit and or donor we picked up because of it.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic (apologies if you are) but we're playing Georgia Southern in a weekday game on ESPNU in two weeks.

On paper, they probably make the argument that holding a MAC or SB game on a Tuesday gives a chance for the G5 teams to showcase some of their biggest matchups without competition from the P5. On paper, Arkansas State v. Appalachian State
should have been a barn burner of a match. I'm not sure how much exposure we got. I tried to listen to ESPNU on SiriusXM today and didn't hear any mentions, people on here said Sports Center was too busy talking about baseball, etc. so I'm not sure if we got much exposure other than being the only game on that night.
I guess with the 10 day gap, it gives our boys a few extra days to heal up and get ready for the Cajuns. I do, however really find it annoying that the two biggest games IMO of the season (stAte and Georgia Southern) are relegated to weeknight games. I get its marketable from a tv perspective, but from a ticket perspective, either of those games should have packed in Kidd Brewer, Paulson or Centennial Bank Stadiums if they were held on weekends. It's probably the way it's going to be as long as we're one of the conference's more successful teams. The only way out of it is start sucking or move to a different conference.

The entire first segment on FullRide on ESPNU on XM was on our game.

Even AAC teams play on weeknights. This season alone, UCF has 4 weeknight games (2 Thursday, 2 Friday). They mostly correspond with the "good" matchups: USF, FAU, etc.

Can’t believe we are not demanding that ESPN at least use the right
Yosef logo. Geez, come-on man, we stopped using it in 2014.

I know. It's a drawback of being a good G5 team. We're just going to have to live with it I think.

No, I simply did not realize that load of crap is still going on. What a shame for this rivalry. Thanks for the wake up call all the same.
