Just a short article where some folks from Penn State give us some props.

"They routinely take on higher level teams and win." If only that were true. Otherwise it is a sign of respect from a clearly knowledgeable and classy fanbase.

That writer--Chris Lucia--is pretty sharp. I liked some of his other pieces before and after our game with PSU, and he even rebuts some of the lazier clapbacks about our strength of schedule, slow start against stAte, etc. Much better beat writer than many schools have on SBNation.

Nice to have our name mentioned by one of the country clubbers.

Observations. He failed to mention home cooking refs. Couple of penalties on APP to extend their drives and cut our drives, is all the difference in APP shocking them. For the record APP had 12 penalties, excessive, maybe - Penn State had 2 penalties that day. Are they that well coached, maybe? Haven't verified, but it has been pointed out that Penn State was the least penalized team in the Big Ten last year.

Maybe it was totally non-biased, but as a conspiracy theory, many millions of $$$ for the Big 10 and Penn State for making the playoffs in a year when they are considered one of the very few that could make the final four. The officials aren't going to let a "buy a win" come in and knock them out of that kind of money. There wouldn't have been a country club "game of the year" in an undefeated Ohio State and a one loss Penn State. Refs are going to look out for the hand that feeds them. Next year UNC and South Carolina won't be in the same situation as Penn State, but we'll see how we fare playing ACC and SEC officials.

What’s interesting is last week on a sports radio show I was listening to they were discussing Penn State’s chances of making the playoff and talked about how as we keep winning it helps their strengths of schedule. Imagine, App State helping Penn State’s SOS!

PSU is a disciplined team and typically doesn't beat themselves.

However 10 yards of penalties in a game with zero subjective penalties against them week 1. PSU has averaged 70 yards/game in penalties since our game.

Classy. It's nice to see Penn State as a whole give our program respect and props.

The Penn State folks on Twitter are on board with the #RankAppState movement. As they should be.

The Nitany Lions need App to be ranked to build their resume. They currently only have 2 ranked teams remaining on their schedule in Big Blue and the Badgers after losing to ranked tOSU. If App gets ranked and everything else remains constant, they’ll have 4 games against ranked teams not including B1G championship should they make it. Assuming (big assumption) PSU wins out, they would have a 3-1 overall regular season record against top 25 teams.
