Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
On a National Show this morning bragged on Satterfield, and commented on how good a job he's done at APP and some school should get him.
Satt's days are numbered, enjoy our success, not sure if we have a plug and play coach like he has been.

Big shoes to fill someday but we’ve been very fortunate with replacing Coordinators and Assistants. Coaches Brown and Jones have done an excellent job in the absence of Woody and Sloan.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 10:06 amOn a National Show this morning bragged on Satterfield, and commented on how good a job he's done at APP and some school should get him.

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
I know this is a dead horse and hopefully Satt will stick around just a few more years. However, I believe what Coach Brown has done is extraordinary. I predicted a fall off in the defense once Woody left and I'm happily eating crow. He has surpassed all my expectations as a DC and you can tell the players love playing for him. At this point in time and to keep some continuity within the program, I'd throw Coach Brown's hat in the ring to be Satt's successor if he were interested.

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
I think he's back next year. The season sets up nice with two winnable P5 games at UNC and USC. Satt has not beat a P5 yet, and if we can get one or both of those games next year, his stock will skyrocket.moonshine wrote: ↑Wed Oct 10, 2018 10:55 amI know this is a dead horse and hopefully Satt will stick around just a few more years. More importantly the guys on Full Ride gushed about App State. Neuheisel said we should be in the discussion for NY6 game. Really made positive comments about our defense.

Neuhiesel loves Satterfield and App State and talks about us frequently on his show. Constantly referring to Satt’s rise from a walk-on player to head coach of a super successful G5 program.

I hate I missed the show. I listen to Coach and Show Pony everyday traveling on business. In a rental this week with only AM/FM.
Neuheisel is very versed on Satt and App football. He always tells it like it is as well and doesn't tend to get on bandwagons.

In a perfect world, I can only imagine seeing this team with the current coaching staff intact two years from now. Scary good.

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
Thought: what if Coach signing the contract extension caused a ripple effect, leading to the big news released today regarding the major change to Apps infrastructure which could potentially keep him at App?! I would personally love to see him as the legend that followed the legend. Maybe a pipe dream. But, damn I’d love to be able to keep him an Boone.

Don't want to see him go from App's perspective, but he deserves to cash in on a big payday. Would always rather have a coach that others want, than the guy that we want to see fired. Keep on winning coach!

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
Not arguing, but what is not big about nearly $1 million/year? Sure would be big to me. Maybe y'all make that kind of money, I don't know, but that WOULD BE life-changing money to me. Just sayin'....

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
I'm just glad we have people here that have it all worked out so that Satt won't have to spend any time thinking about it. Congrats Coach, your peeps on the MMB will tell you what you will do.

Re: Rick Neuheisel - Satterfield
I still remember him having Simms on and calling him McFreshy. Yes, Neuheisel loves us.
