Point system works similarly to how AP Top 25 system works. If we have ten guesses made, the closest guess to the point totals for either team or the margin would get the most points. In this case, with 10 guesses made, it would be 10 points. If two guesses tied, the points would be added up and split. So if two guesses tied it would 9.5, three guesses, 9 points, 4 guesses, 8.5 points. Well, when we have 75 people making predictions, that total increases to 75 points being up for grabs for the closest score in each category.

Guesses that are a point off in either direction will receive the same number of points.

If Appfan1 guesses 35 points, and AppFan2 guesses 33 points, and the actual total is 34 points, they are tied. Quite often, we will have up to a dozen guesses for the same points total. All of those folks receive the same amount of points.

For the USA game, the winner scored 70, 70, and 71 points for the three categories. There were 216 points available because 3 X 72 predictions = 216. Because of ties, its very rare that anyone collects all the points, but getting 211 out of 216 is really good.
