Student section

Is there any other school that has a 100 yard long student section, front row field level seats, on the home team side that routinely packs in 7-8,000,
who stand the entire game and can overflow to 10,000 for marquee games??

Our student section is actually 120 yards. The stands stretch between the back lines.

Our student section is actually 120 yards. The stands stretch between the back lines.
Correct you are! Even better!
While It may not be the biggest, I just think it is a very unique student section and I hope it’s never “improved”...

While It may not be the biggest, I just think it is a very unique student section and I hope it’s never “improved”...
I liken it to what Cameron Indoor has, but for football.

Agree. The students should never lose those seats. I’d be more likely to boycott the program over that than keeping a terrible coach. It gives the students and App’s program a unique game day experience. I only wish the student section could become as coordinated as the Cam Crazies.
Until the AD generates the $19-$20mil in revenue that student fees make up, this topic shouldn’t even be up for discussion and I’d still be against it if athletics was completely self sufficient. I believe many of us developed our App fandom in that section and it should continue for generations to come even if it means missing out on additional dollars.

AMEN to this....when we sell out the student seats for money, I will stop coming and sending checks. I want college football to remain COLLEGE football not bandwagon jumpers. God bless the App Student section. I love what we have going and have been building for 40 years. While I am ranting, I hope we make our OWN traditions. It seems we are copying a lot of others lately.
I think we should have a Flannel out. (instead of white out) Yellow and black flannel like yosef wears.

We are investing in our future by making it a given right (which they pay for) for the students to be such an important part of our games. That about guarantees a better alumni return rate in later years, like moonshine says...
Read on the ragin pagin board some...they realize they screwed up messing with their student section, moving it from down the length of the visitor bench side to less “premium” seats...student section atmosphere went down big time...
Just thought we could stand out a little in that Taco Bell contest linked in the OP...
also, flannel out would be cool!

Been asking the question (in my head) for years....if Yosef wears flannel why do we have a striped squad? Every school has students wearing striped overalls.

I hear ya. I'm even perfectly fine with the overalls. Lots of mountain folks wear overalls. Just print flannel on them. Be different.

One of the most loyal student fan groups, I don’t care what they wear as long as it doesn’t paint the university in a poor light. Thanks for those fans for showing up early, yelling loud, and staying late.
