Re: State of the backfield
I think we will be okay with our 3 back rotation-- Williams, Evans & Hicks. Hopefully, can hold Peoples until last 3 games vs Troy, Championship & Bowl. Harrington will play in those 3 games and maybe the Ga State game. When healthy, Williams is an excellent back and Evans & Hicks can go the distance on any carry. May see more carries from Slot position (Virgil, Malik Williams & Heath). We should be fine!!!

Re: State of the backfield
Marcus Williams is a violent runner. He fits the bill as an early down back.... he is a punch to the gut even if he doesn’t break one off. Harrington Is a little more dynamic, but his health concerns me. Like I said before, Evans is a better fit as a change of pace and ST guy. We shouldn’t discount his contributions on ST this year, he is dangerous and really bolsters that 3rd phase of the game. I think if you run MWJr on early downs, peppering in Hicks and Evans and possibly Harrington depending on his status.... we will have a lot of balance that should wear on defenses.

Re: State of the backfield
There isn’t a dumb post on this entire thread. We are absolutely loaded at back and receiver. We lose a potential POTY and we are saddled with tough decisions as to who plays. We can potentially use enough guys that nobody tires or gets overused. Best I can tell Satt doesn’t typically sing the praises of a freshman but with CP I believe he made an exception. Can’t wait to see that young man unleashed.

Run Williams and Evans 25 times a game, and turn Zac and the four horsemen loose on the lack of pass defense that is the SBC.

I love that play. Even the name is cool. Maybe we are waiting for the need to arise. Haven’t had to use half of our potentially killer plays yet.

As far as body type, Jalin reminds me a lot of Terell Davis. Does anyone else see this?AppFan11 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:21 pmI think there is little question that Evans and Williams will split time. Williams is the closet back we have to Moore’s body type. Williams and do all the inside stuff. He can take the wear and tear probably better than all the other backs. They can use Hicks in spot play. Daetrick can be put in when available and use People’s in our last three games and save his redshirt. If either Evans or Williams goes down then the shirt comes off.

I'd hate to change that strategy though. I love 2nd and 4.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 10:20 amWe might not run up the middle on most every first down.

I think we should put Darrynton Evans in at right guard and run the fumble-rooskie.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:37 pmThere isn’t a dumb post on this entire thread. The main thing: don't fumble the ball! Ever. Do this and everything will work out OK.

Re: State of the backfield
You know what we should never do? Punt. Like, never punt again. Go for every 4th down, even in FG range. Touchdowns or bust.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 11:06 amI think we should put Darrynton Evans in at right guard and run the fumble-rooskie.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:37 pmThere isn’t a dumb post on this entire thread.
