Re: On to Statesboro
Reminds me of 2009 when I saw a lady Stink fan come out of the men's room at a gas station in Gastonia. Dick and Jane must be grad level reading material in Stinkboro.
Re: On to Statesboro
Just for your information ValleyBoy is a Georgia Southern fan who graduated from Troy. So you need to refer to the level of the education from Troy when referring to ValleyBoy. Hey ValleyBoy is know as the Troy spy over on gsufans.com.appstate77 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 8:37 pmReminds me of 2009 when I saw a lady Stink fan come out of the men's room at a gas station in Gastonia. Maybe he was saying that we own Georgia Southern.

Gnatsboro.....a place where you can fart with ease and nobody notices.....just pack a black and gold bandana or paint mask to keep from sucking in gnats.

Re: On to Statesboro
Will we, though? ULaLa has a much better defense and offense than the Stink, and we handled them without much drama. Our defense is too good to be carved up by their middle school offense, and their defense gave up 31 points to New Mexico State.
I know anything can happen, it’s in Gnatsboro, and they’ll be hyped up to GAOA, but I’m just not that worried about it.

Re: On to Statesboro
UL gave up more v NMSU than GS. Don't forget who the DC is for the Eagles.
We generally perform well against the option but this GS team leads the conference in rushing and are 6-1, we should be worried.
Now everyone is talking about how good UL is on defense after predicting we would score at will. Perhaps, we shouldn't underestimate GS like we did UL.

Re: On to Statesboro
The statistics showed justification to think the we would score at will against them. Just as they show that GS is not built to compete with us with that scheme. We are too good against the run to allow them to march down the field time and again and they aren’t built to overcome a big lead. I think the offensive yesterday was more about scheme and strategy than a systemic problem.hapapp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 6:52 amUL gave up more v NMSU than GS. Re: On to Statesboro
No doubt, outside of Penn State, the last three games have been against stiffer competition. Strategically, we have likely changed our focus and are relying more on the run. That being said, Zac Thomas' performance over the last three games is significantly below his performance in the first three games. Over the last three games he is 30-65 for 396 yards, 5 TDs and 3 INTs. In the first three games, he was 50-67 for 750 yards, 6 TDs and 1 INT. I'm not suggesting that we panic here but perhaps the fact that he is a first time starter and some defenses are adjusting to what he brings in the passing game.
He did make some bad decisions yesterday and seemed to be under throwing his receivers on the longer passes. I would assume the wind played some role in that. Nonetheless, there has been a bit of trend. It will be interesting to see how he performs this week, an effective passing game is the complement that our run game needs.
D. Evans proved that while he is a different kind of back than Jalin, he appears certainly to be up to the task of filling that role. He has put together back to back 100 yard games. We will need that kind of performance on Thursday.

All my classes were at the Phenix City campus. Graduation was on Fort Benning since they handled the fall graduation ceremony.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:56 pmSo which military base did you get your Troy degree from?ValleyBoy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 8:43 pmJust for your information ValleyBoy is a Georgia Southern fan who graduated from Troy. Re: On to Statesboro
Zac was waiting for clear separation of his receivers. They didn’t get open. There were 2 passes I saw that were almost pick 6’s. We looked about as vanilla as I’ve seen us. We failed to use our speed on the edges enough. Evans is not built for 26 carries a game. Still we won a game when we played below par. Question I have is: Does Peoples play against the gumroots?
