I’ve been looking forward to this day for 30 years, but worst possible timing... ever.

Short week to prep for our biggest rival. Thursday night game on espn. Still adjusting to losing Moore. This is a huge distraction. We’ll find out just how mature this team is with #25 rattling around in their heads.

As a fan tho, it’s great to be a Mountaineer! Congrats to the team and staff!!!!!!

This team and staff have worked HARD for this honor. I don't think they will have the mind set that "we have arrived" and get the big head. I like this team's work ethic!!! Let's show the Nation and the Gnats that we are LEGIT!!! I say it's GREAT TO BE A MOUNTAINEER!!!!

Number 25 don’t mean shit if you can’t back it up and I believe that will be the mindset. Coach will keep them grounded. Just wish we would have put ULL away when we had the chance instead of having to battle so late into the 4th.

APPsolutely !.....This is proving ground time. Invite and embrace the challenge of backing the rank up. We are where we have wanted to be! Gag the iglets on their home turf! Time to be THE ELITE TEAM!

I thought the lackluster win might prevent the ranking this week but I actually think this might be a good thing for the team. UL is a good team but App didn't play our best game(offense). I do think the game plan was extremely conservative, and that was probably geared toward eating clock and keeping the UL offense off the field. If the passing game has been clicking, we would have won by 3 scores at least and probably would have covered. This type of "win" could be what the team needs to re-ignite that flame and keep them from becoming complacent. Usually it takes a loss to do that. I'm hoping this is a good thing.

Congratulations to a very special group of young men wearing black and gold. I am looking forward to the rest of the season to see what you men can do!

There is a disparity in APP and Gumroots, APP is at the best ever status, The Gnats are fielding a team that would be embarrassed by their earlier teams with Erk Russell and Tracy Ham and Paul Johnson and Adrian Peterson.

Now lets hope we stay there and not pull a Duke and get blown out thursday night.
1. Beat Southern
2. Win Out
3. Win first conference championship
4. NY6?

Did not expect this to come in 4th year of eligibility. Hope the good guys make it count from here on out.

Give'em Hell!

If we are truly as good as we think we are Thursday is perfect. We should be the class of the conference so go prove it. I feel like we have way more tricks in the bag. Would love some misdirection plays, jet sweeps and maybe even a double pass. Defense will rise to the occasion

No matter what happens the rest of the season, I’m going to enjoy this. We have a very young team and we’re ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation. We are at the big boy’s table, and it feels pretty darn good. This has nothing to do with the remaining teams on our schedule. It’s about us. We’ve had a target on our backs anyway this year, and ANY conference loss could cost us a championship, and it still can. If this ranking motivates our rivals, good, screw’em.
This can be a great boost for our recruiting and our university.
Congrats to all players, coaches, and APP Nation. Together we continue to rise.

Just imagine if we had beaten wake Forest at home, beat Tenn in overtime, and stopped Penn St on their last drive in the 4th.... all games we should have won and screwed the pooch. I know it's the past but I can only imagine where we would be had those three games went our way.

Something I overlooked last week when I said what's the big deal about rankings when we just need to win....This is huge for the program and it makes all of us feel even greater to be Mountaineers. In the event there is a three way tie for the east division, rankings would play a big part in tie breaker.

With that said...no ties...beat the hell out of the stink

Why is everyone hoping to break the top 25 so bad? I know it would be one hell of an achievement, but is it really that big of a deal right this moment? Just win out and it will happen when it happens.

Another benefit is not having to hit the Sunbelt or all FBS tab on espn's Top 25 Scoreboard for recruits to find us, Nice!!!

Both sets of Mountaineers are ranked this week....WVU and App. We need to get these two together sometime.

A trip to Boone is better. Hopefully we can do both.

Yeah, I’ve been talking about this with my “The Fake Mountaineers” friends forever. It would be a good time..... Moonshine rivalry?
