App v.s. GSU Rivalry

If you could name this rivalry what name would you give?

Also, if a trophy of some sort was awarded to the winner, what would you propose?

The Black and Blue Bowl is the best name idea I've heard. I despise "deeper than hate" as a title.

Trophy: a replica Country Music Award.

Two universities that started as teachers colleges. Battle for the paddle. Trophy would be a large wooden teachers paddle. The reality is the PC world would have a field day.

Trophy must include a bus with a goalpost through the window.

Haha! That is great.

I like Black and Blue Bowl for a realistic title.

Southern Miss- Memphis is already called the Black and Blue Bowl.

I do like the idea of it being school/teacher themed. Maybe the trophy could be a school desk, or a yard stick. Maybe call it "The Faculty Meeting."

I like the teacher paddle idea. It pays homage to our history of spanking Georgia Southern in football over the past decade.

We could dust off the Jug. It’s not
Like it’s getting any use.

I’d say bring that out, otherwise GaSo might get their own idea of a geographic-minded trophy and present the idea of a gallon milk jug spray painted gold.

Black and Blue Bowl might be taken, but Black and Blue Brawl is probably available.

How about a replica socon championship trophy? Ties in our socon history; where the rivalry started.

Why not? GS fans like moonshine too. Just call it the battle for the jug or the battle for the old southern jug.

Naw the old mountain jug has a special place in our trophy case for all time, until us and the cats meet again one day.

As for as Shreksboro, I say like a large wooden apple with stone, on a perpetual base, with woodburned logos. Could be cool.

I'm fishing here but...between the two schools there were a combined 9 FCS National Championships and one or the other was usually in contention. Don't know how many SoCon Championships combined between us...but it's got to be a boat-load. We moved up together to FBS and already have 3 combined Sun Belt Championships in 4 years. There's got to be something there...but I've got nothing.

I may or may not have been involved in this. Statute of limitations, right? To our credit, we were trying to get it over the top of the bus and their bus really shouldn’t have been parked there.

It was funny, I was one of the first students to jump down in the West corner of the field by Owens and an officer stopped me, he said “wait wait”. I looked at him and pointed behind him as the floodgates had opened from the north west corner, he said “well, get going then!” and gave me the cattle shoo. I remember a bunch of the officers waving and cheering us on as we ran across the field. I probably made that 100 yard dash in a time D.Evans would be impressed with because I was one of the first few to get to the top crossbar of the goal post and the thing snapped like a twig once we gave it a few rocks. Honestly, haven’t relived that memory in a long time. College. Good times.

I actually like "The School Board" idea of a giant wooden paddle. Brand it with logos on each side and add the years each team wins on their respective side.
