That is not entirely true. The committee has already proven to be a sham. Remember when Western Michigan rowed the boat to a perfect season with two P5 wins? Navy was a one loss team and the committee was setting them up to overtake WMU in the final poll until Navy crapped the bed and lost the week before Army.

Re: App getting love on CFP 25
Navy would've brought in more $$$. The fact of the matter is that money is a factor in their decisions when it comes to taking smaller schools with a smaller revenue footprint. UCF has the athletes, in my opinion, to knock off one of the 2 through 4 teams. I don't think anyone will beat Alabama this season, including Auburn.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 3:57 pmThat is not entirely true. The committee has already proven to be a sham. Well yes. That was my point. App seems to be a favorites on paper, but if someone else can bring in more paper, of the green kind, they will find a way to jump us.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 4:00 pmNavy would've brought in more $$$. You all seem to forget making money was the whole point of bowl games in the first place. It was all about selling hotel rooms in desirable locations in the off season.

Re: App getting love on CFP 25
It would be desirable to drop the Arizona Bowl for a G5 Bowl game in Charlotte or Charleston. Savannah would also be a good location if there was a place to play.
However, App has a shot tonight to make a statement to the CFP. They know how Southern performed against Clemson. If App can put up a similar performance, especially after beating Arkansas State 35-9 when stAte beat Tulsa who should've beat USF, they should be ranked in the first CFP.
FPI still has Penn State pretty high which suggests they are undervalued in most considerations for the CFP and other Polls. If KJ Hamler doesn't go down against Ohio State, Penn State likely wins that game as well.

That's some impressive transitive property work. Well done sir.

Isn't there a bowl planned for Myrtle Beach down the road at CCU's field? Or did I dream that?EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:09 americsaid wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 9:48 amIt would be desirable to drop the Arizona Bowl for a G5 Bowl game in Charlotte or Charleston. Re: App getting love on CFP 25
We all know it doesn't work in football. However, the CFP Committee seems to use it to extrapolate quite a bit which is irritating of course. Personally, I feel like aside from the Memphis game, UCF could likely hang with most any team in the country not named Alabama. A match-up against Michigan or Clemson would be interesting to watch.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:09 americsaid wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 9:48 amIt would be desirable to drop the Arizona Bowl for a G5 Bowl game in Charlotte or Charleston. Pretty sure there was discussion of one but I don't recall what the verdict was. Seemed the process was exploratory more so than complete.Rick83 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:48 amIsn't there a bowl planned for Myrtle Beach down the road at CCU's field? Re: App getting love on CFP 25
I thought it was pretty much in the works as a definite thing....NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 11:36 ami thought it was definite, but could be wrong
I think if App keeps winning the way we are, App will start garnering attention from a lot of casual fans in Charlotte. The media will follow and this could grow our home attendance. The next big step for us is to get that “casual” or non-Alum fan base growing. Being ranked is a step in the right direction and trust me, as someone who works in the Charlotte-Metro and down into the Spartanburg/Greenville area, App is peaking more interest. We travel well as an alumni base, just need to increase that fringe base. More fans, bigger bowls. Bigger bowls, more growth.

Not sure if meant as an insult or an accident, but ECU is in AAC now.Rick83 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 12:32 pmImagine if we played ECU or Marshall in Myrtle Beach...that place would be rockin'!!NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 11:58 am"The Myrtle Beach game is likely to involve teams from the Sun Belt, Conference USA or the Mid-American Conference..."

Keep winning and regardless of what happens this year, we should be the favorite for NY6 bowl 2020.
