Jalin and ZT

Earlier this week I told a friend that in my opinion , Jalin Moore was our best player, maybe the best in the Sunbelt.Zach however is our most valuable player, the key to the machine, the one we can’t afford to lose, especially now at this point.Unfortunately I may have been proven right, we were nothing close to what we had been earlier , tonight , in any facet of the game.No excuses , injuries are part of the game and those voids were glaring tonight. Especially at QB .Saying that” it just wasn’t our night” is pretty weak. You have to make it “your night” .We didn’t and got whipped, badly.

It's hard to know how Zac's presence changes the outcome though, it was clear there was a huge drop off with Derrick in the game. OTOH, Zac hasn't been exactly burning it up over the previous three games just hitting on 50% of his passes and throwing nearly as many INTs as TDs. Hard to know if he would have been demonstrably better against a pretty stout GS defense. The OL lost the battle in the trenches and not sure who the signal caller was would have mattered. Sometimes a season is derailed by injuries, interesting to see how we perform going forward.

I don't think we got a chance to see what PD would have done because every time we had a good play, we followed it up with two consecutive penalties and killed the chance for a drive. Derrick and Huesman both showed promising moments and I think we could win with either of them playing as long as the team around him isn't shooting us in the foot.

OL was getting beat for the majority of the game. First time this season that we were not the more/equal physical team. GSU whipped us upfront. The character of this team will be tested. Let's win out and hope GSU drops a couple of games (just need TROY to beat them if we win our remaining games)!!!

Agree. It would have been a different game , but different enough?Hard to say yes after that nightmare beat down.

There is no team in the country that could lose the conference preseason player of the year and a top quarterback and still be successful except for maybe Alabama. Plain and simple.

I would agree, though some here in previous weeks said our second string could win the Belt. We're clearly not as good as we thought and not nearly as bad as we performed last night.

Has anyone heard the extent of ZT's injury?

Pretty sure it was a concussion and his future play depends on the protocol.
