Caterer yesterday was AWFUL! A $35 per person (2 beers included) with dried up-processed hamburger patties, what looked to be warmed up from frozen Swanson chicken filets, some sort of sausage mixture, canned "baked" beans... On a positive note, I did enjoy my $33 lettuce/salad!

lol But the $70 went to a good cause, didn't it, YesAppCan?

I guess it did as App should "make' some money on these but the caterer they hired just did a poor job--- Not App State's fault in any way.

I often sign up for these tailgates to support the alumni association and usually it is very good. But yesterday...........

Though in the long run it does need to be of value and some quality or the profit that App gets from this will dry up as folks will stop purchasing the food package.

This will not be an issue for two years I assume so there is time to find someone else to handle this.

I bet catering in metro Conway may be skimpy and cost to bring someone over from MB may have been a factor. Or CCU may have required using the university. it was a fail for sure. But our Alumni office staff do a great job with lots of expensive logistics to work through on these events (get a quote for renting a big tent—expensive!) And these events over all are not profitable but They are expected by many alums.

Good things never occur in circus tents.

The alumni tailgate looked pretty sad, especially compared to the lively crowd that was rocking GG.

Tell you what I would have been setting up a low country boil. Easy to do and hard to mess up. A pot of water, some Old Bay and some good shrimp, corn, potato’s and sausage and you are in business.

The 15th Anniversary of the first episode of Arrested Development was 2 days ago so it has been on my mind. My Google feed on my Android phone, which is based on what I read from their suggestions, is loaded with App State articles, trains, Seinfeld, Simpsons and Arrested Development. That is pretty much it.

That show was waaaaay ahead of its time.

They made a big mistake not giving it a chance to find its fans before the axe fell in season 3.

I thought the food was pretty good yesterday. The great big cookies were awesome. The beer selection was better than past Alumni tailgates also.
