True story about Peoples. In her post-game interview with Scott, Molly Cotton asked him about Peoples "somewhat early" celebration of his first collegiate TD before he crossed the plane of the goal. Scott grinned sheepishly, shook his head and said "Before I sent him in I pulled him aside and told him to act like you've been there--even though you haven't. And then he starts a celebration before he scored! Grrrrr! That's why I worry about 18 year-olds. But Cam's for real and he has a very special future ahead of him!" :!:

I'd take the bet that Evans lines up at WR next year. If Harrington doesn't get hurt he would have played WR this year.
I’m good with a friendly wager. I say that Evans starts the 2019 season as a RB. What do you want to wager?
$50 Yosef Club donation he's higher on the depth chart at WR than RB.

Evans is a running back now and likely will stay there. Evans now has two years under his belt as a RB, I doubt that he moves back to a position he has not been working on. When was the last time he played WR?

Evans will remain at RB, however, Hicks may move back to CB (good size and excellent speed for that position).

Fair enough. Now that the bet has been made, why do you think he will be back at WR?

Oh no! The person you just bet with is actually Evans!

Joking! I have assumed that he would transition back to WR also, so I would be interested in hearing thoughts. both RB and WR are going to be full stables, but he will be a key contributor regardless of where he lines up.

He’ll project as a slot WR at the next level and Peoples, Williams, Harrington are a solid three at WR.

Evans is likely a top three WR on this team forced to play RB this year due to injuries.

Putting Evans at WR gives Satt the most talent on the field.

He was a starter at WR last spring before the injuries.

He’s a heck on an athlete and can do both!

Ha. I’m not Evans and I have no inside knowledge. Just basing it off what I have seen so far.

I think Evans will be a 3rd down back, slot receiver, half back type. He will be on the field a lot, but not sure it will be as 1st RB.

Fair and logical points. Here is why I am saying that he will stay at RB. 1) while we are loaded with talent all over the field, Evans is the most dynamic and as such, he needs to get the most touches. Which leads to point two. 2) how to get those touches, he needs 15 to 20 touches per game. So what is the most efficient way to get him those touches? Kickoff returns is one way. But he can’t get that many touches at the slot position. 3) as a slot receiver, he will be matched up with a nickel back who isn’t the same mismatch as a linebacker covering him out of the backfield. 4) final point, Inserting Evans into the slot means that you are sitting Malik Williams, not Virgil. So in recap, moving Evans reduces his touches and diminishes the effectiveness of a natural playmaker.

An article by Ethan Joyce, Winston-Salem Journal confirms that Coach Satterfield wants to keep Peoples' redshirt. This kid has a bright future ahead of him and I am glad he is a Mountaineer.

"App State still hopes to redshirt Camerun Peoples. But the team also wants to give him the experience to grow"
