Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
The only way I can generate self- interest in all the bowl games is to put money down on every one of them. Or get in a bowl pick 'em pool with a good payout.

I have a feeling the SBC tie-in to the Arizona bowl will cease in 3-4 years.
The eastern shift continues.
This is a positive add for the conference.

Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
For us, it really doesn't matter what bowl we go to because all $$$ is split with all conference teams. I would rather go to Myrtle Beach than Mobile, Al. A lot closer and App Nation will fill the stands. Just my opinion.

Oh it'll happen eventually. Probably once we're done renovating the fieldhouse & adding 1000 more luxury seats. Question is who shall be our sponsor?yosef13 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 13, 2018 2:54 pmPersonally, I would have preferred Charleston, but will take this any day over Montgomery.hotrod2001 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 13, 2018 2:39 pmEh, beats going to the middle of Alabama.
NCAA should be bold and put a bowl game in Boone. Give a few teams a REAL test of strength and elements. lol

Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
Oh hell yeah!! I would love to go back to Conway for a bowl game and some Sugar Creek. We got Sugar Creek to come to Wilkes to do our HS Prom my Jr year (a very long time ago). Our class raised a butt load of money and hooked the Seniors up. It was great!!
Bummer = we got paid back the next year at our Sr prom with a dang DJ...I imagine he was good, but we didn't stay too long for that prom.
Give Em Hell!!

Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
I cannot see App State ever getting an invite to New Orleans under the current set up which the Sun Belt has with the bowls. They will pick Louisiana whenever they are eligible first, then maybe Monroe, South Alabama, Ark St, or Troy over us.
Also, the Dollar General may be on its last leg per:

So this is hoping that the Myrtle Beach Bowl will draw well.

Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
Not to mention most of us have friends and family with beach houses. Free places to stay are verrryyyy nice for App State road tripsAppState89 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 8:23 amFor us, it really doesn't matter what bowl we go to because all $$$ is split with all conference teams. Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
Haha. It was a little tongue in cheek, but I moved out to Gaston county 15 years ago and all of these people have places in Myrtle, its ridiculous. Growing up, us Charlotte people poked fun at the Union/Gaston/Cabarrus country folk, but they are usually the ones that have beach houses. My wife and I used to rent from this lady that lived in a double wide looking house in Cherryville--she owned like 5 properties in North Myrtle and they were all extremely nice. Blew my mind.NewApp wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 5:50 amMost of us? Are you kidding?appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 10:48 pmNot to mention most of us have friends and family with beach houses. Side note, Myrtle provides plenty of rental options and it is the off-season....

As to the off season, you are right, that's about the only times I go; great deals on ocean front rooms and condos. I've had skin cancer so I avoid the sun as much as possible.

Re: Myrtle Beach Bowl
I’m blessed to know people with places to stay. I, on the other hand, spend the majority of my “spare” money on App State Season tickets and the weekly trips up there with my family. I’m known for my ability to find a “hook up” on anything.NewApp wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 5:19 pmI'm glad you were joking. Skin cancer sucks. Runs in my family, my son and I have to wear swim shirts and I stay under the umbrella if I’m not in the water. My wife and daughter, on the other hand, are dark skinned and have no idea what it means or feels like to get burnt. They complain about “getting a shade darker” when I’m over there plastering myself with sunscreen every half hour and still getting toasted.
