This is as it should be. Its clearly the best location, prime TV time and channel. Conference champ deserves the premiere game.

NO bowl would be pissed to get us though given their love of the closest team possible.

SB Champion vs UAB or Middle TN St or La Tech most likely!

Absolutely the way it should be, champion gets a reward not a 6 win team just because they are closer. This is a step in the right direction

The only issue I have is that the opponent is "a team from Conference USA". The SBC is Not guaranteed their conference champion or even runner-up.
Keep in mind it's not a major concern for me, but I still don't like that the SBC champion could play against the 5th or 6th best C-USA team. Hopefully this will be remedied in future bowl seasons.

What's good is that "team from Conference USA" may turn out to someone like UAB, who have been on fire all season (like Apps) & just next door to Louisiana. New Orleans Bowl, C-USA champs UAB vs SunBelt champs App State. How could anyone refuse to that??

Great for us obviously, but also a great step for the league IMO. I think this makes winning the conference title a bigger deal than when it had no bearing on what bowl game you went to.

If NO Bowl gets to choose it surely will be the closest team they can as the opponent.

I checked the Conf. USA standings, and Marshall is also bowl eligible.
NOLA will probably choose La.Tech to be there. Fine.
But, how cool would it be for App to meet Marshall again? This time in the Superdome?

Playing Marshall in NO would be awesome...would add something to the game in 2021 when they come to Boone. Lots of us old-timers remember that rivalry well.

Great step for the SunBelt, glad it's happening.
However, I don't like it. Kinda deflates the other SunBelt bowl games from now on. Rather than them all being "equal" like it is now.

If we win the SB Championship and head to NO Bowl, then it's time for our fans to "put up or shut up" and sell out of our allotment. NO EXCUSES!!! If we want to be treated like a "big time" program, then let's act like it. Not sure we will even have a 25K crowd for a home SB Championship game.

Let’s just win tomorrow and then take it from there.

It's too bad we couldn't convince C-USA to pit their conference champion against ours in this game, I think it would elevate the game and the players. I'm not sure if C-USA has a designation for their champion but I assume they probably have them go up against an AAC team or a BigXII team in the Heart of Dallas Bowl (?!?) or the AAC/SEC team in the Independence.

CUSA champ gets to take their pick of the league’s tie-ins. Remember last year, when the Lane Train stayed home in Boca and impressed everyone so much by crushing a 7-6 Akron team?
I hear you but I think this is a step toward that end (or something like it). The fact that the league got this done 8 days before the end of the regular season rather than waiting until the offseason is pretty impressive to me.
