***FRIDAY UPDATE***
Sleet & freezing rain later tonight through early overnight hours into Saturday morning. Rain will be departing Saturday AM. Based on data, the game looks dry. With an improving sky. Partly cloudy by halftime.
So, heck yeah...
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
---------------
***THURS UPDATE***
Soggy Saturday morning a solid probability. Freezing rain / sleet likely until 8 AM, then to a cold rain through early afternoon. Looks like rain chances will throttle way back around kickoff an then continue diminishing through the game.
Early arrivers, as you come up in elevation, some patchy ice on bridges and overpasses could be a minor issues once you clear the parkway on 421.
----------------
***WED UPDATE***
No major changes in forecast thinking today. Will be tracking an earlier departure potential for the rain. As of this update, not sold on it. So, I'll keep with rain likely during the game.
For the Friday night and early Saturday morning arrivers, snow is in the mix for late Friday evening and early Saturday AM prior to sunrise. There could be some light accumulations on roads. Any snow should change over to a cold rain several hours before sunrise.
Rain should end very early Saturday evening. As above, hoping the second half see's' and earlier end to the rain. We'll see.
--------------
Fellow Mountaineers, I can't say it's a great forecast for Saturday. Cold rain in the AM with rain becoming a bit more sporadic for game time. We are Mountaineers, and this time of year, this is what we get. For the Troy State folks, this won't be a great forecast. Thus, welcome to Boone you all!
------------
8 AM: Upper 30s - a cold rain with some sleet.
Noon: Lower 40s - cold rain.
KICKOFF: Mid 40s, scattered showers.
HALFTIME: Mid 40s, scattered showers
END OF GAME: Mid 40s, a few showers in the region.
-------------
Come on out! While the morning won't be great, the game shouldn't be a wash out.
