Thought I'd,
hopefully, dive into a topic that won't be a pissing match ('Neers

). With the ugly weather forecast for Saturday, what do you do to stay warm and dry? Costco long johns, wool socks, ski pants, layered shirts, waterproof coat and hat for me---And handwarmers in my coat pocket. Dollar Tree plastic on stadium bench.

Nah, seriously, I wanted to see how many posts it took before "liquid warmth" came into the equation... Wow, it didn't take long.

If I’m sitting with my friend in his club seats I wear normal outer gear. If I’m sitting in the uncovered stands I wear my duck hunting gear (gore Tex thinsulate parka and pants and boots) with normal clothing underneath. Fuel up with “apple pie”....

Well, I just have one rule: Absolutely NO COTTON. When cotton gets wet, it gets cold & there's nothing you can do about it, except take it off. Just layer up with wool/polyester/non-cotton blends, and warm & dry boots and you can survive about anything. One exception: I found at the GaSt game about 3 yrs. ago that there is nothing worse than sleet blowing straight back into your face (I was in the West stands). Nothing I could do about it. That was one of two games I left early in 30 years (other was lightning).

1980 Furman game, I was a senior in high school. Drove up with my buddy all we had on were light shirts and our letter jackets. It snowed hard the whole first half. Froze our bejeebees off. Drove back down the mountain and watched the 2nd half on tv in front of fireplace. One of our first televised games ever I think.
Anyway dress warm.

Nobody expected that weather at the Furman game in 1980. I believe it was our first home game and was played around September 15th or 16th. Believe it was a regionally televised game on ABC.

As long as you can stay dry, it's not going to be deathly cold. It's only going to be in the 40's right? I'm just gonna throw a poncho over shorts, t-shirt and sandals.

Probably going shirtless with a N painted on my chest. Looking for others interested in doing the same with the letters E, E, R, & S.

McConell's reverse was the play of the game on our side , a player that I will not name fumbled it away at the goal line however....

Just some 5.11 pants, boots, Under Armour under shirt, long sleeve black App shirt and my App thin rain jacket. And Apple Pie. And I hope black cat is back open (with PBR on tap).
Maybe I should go shirtless and get "Neers" tatted under my Yosef face tattoo on my arm.

I was at that game. It was balmy and rainy that morning but was snowing sideways at game time. It was an October homecoming game too as I remember the cars with the homecoming court navigating the track with blue lipped beauties. Lol

I thought Conrad Stadium was opened in 1962. We spent 18 years without a home game? I swear I saw a game there with my dad and uncle in the late 1970s.

LOL! For the sake of safety, I volunteer to paint
"MOUNTAI" on my beer belly and will jump in front of the "N" just in case some of our fans on here go into sudden cardiac arrest or shock on Saturday over the use of the term "NEERS"!

Base layer long john type tights and top; sweatshirt and pants on top of that; Northface coat; gloves; bomber hat.....I'm good to go with that setup. If it's colder than that I add insulated (carhardt type) bib overalls..won't need them for this game. Only thing that ever gets cold for me are my feet.

Cotton = Fabric of death when wet, shoulda moved to the East stands.
