Has the weather,ice storm power outage,taken the station off the air?

I picked it up just a little with a lot of static. Never improved even in Boone.

May be on reduced power due to reflected rf on tower due to ice buildup.

The power line to WKBC's tower runs up and through the Brushy Mountains--crossing some of the roughest terrain in NWNC. Duke and the Co-Ops have the technology to locate the break or breaks (if that's the issue). Getting their trucks/crews in to the site(s) is a real problem. Fingers crossed!

That's actually good news. ✔ Access for crews is removed as an issue. Now it's men, muscle, chainsaws and knowhow v. hundred-year-old oaks. The oaks will lose.

Speaking of WKBC are any App listeners in south Charlotte having trouble picking up the signal. There seems to be a Latino music station close by where i can hardly listen to the play by play. Just wondering if anyone was having the same problem.

I was hearing Christmas music after leaving the game for some reason. They just have a short post game?

It was on 96.5 with 97.3 down. We listened to it there until We couldn't stand the static anymore after we got through blowing rock and played it via the goasu App on my phone...

Same here. We listened to it on 96.5 but pretty quickly ran out of range as we headed down the mountain.

That explains why I couldn't find the pregame show! I got a "little" frustrated

It was down the day before the game and the day off. In Charlotte, it was Latin American music playing, but once you passed Gastonia up to Boone, it was just static. I listened to postgame on 1450 the way back. As of Sunday, 97.3 appeared to have been restored.

Same problem. Latino music in and out every few seconds. All around south Charlotte. Impossible to listen.
