Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
I'm going to say yes. 3 consecutive weeks is tough on the traveling faithful, but this game is History, and who would miss it? I couldn't care less if it were on ESPN, CW, or Hallmark, KBS is the ONLY place to watch this one! And since our other in-state FBS fans have nothing to do, maybe they'll come and watch too

I think we'll top 30K and as far as ESPN goes, just record it and then re-watch it when you get home which is my normal thing. There's nothing like being there and feeling the energy and atmosphere...last chance for a game in Boone until September. If you're in the stands you're helping build the football program by showing support, contributing to the noise, showing recruits what a packed Rock looks like and this is on national TV...a chance to showcase our program.

Think it'll be between 25-30k. ESPN and Noon kickoff probably keep a few at home. Sadly including me.

Agree with you here. I am going with my family, but a big part is I'm blessed to have a wife who is just as rabid an App fan as me. Dishing out an additional $100+ on top of my season tickets/Yosef Club dues this close to Christmas is tough knowing that I have the "Christmas expenses" for the extended family right around the corner too. We are planning a trip to New Orleans for the Bowl Game as a replacement for buying toys and such, so it may work out financially. My kids are down for the experiences of App games as a treat over material gifts, thank God.....
Upside is the students get in for free, so hopefully they are as strong as they were this past week and invite lots of family with their "guest" tickets. If we can be as loud as we were last week with a few thousand more, the atmosphere should be awesome!

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
Based on current ticket sales, I don't know if we surpass what we had last Saturday. I doubt many "casual" fans come at all. It will be the hardcore 18-20K that usually stay all 4 quarters. I think 23,500 would be top end of what to expect unfortunately. Hope to be eating some crow on Saturday.

It'll be a lot. I know quite a few alumni that have not attended a game since graduation completely changing their weekend plans to make it up to Boone. I think the rock will be packed

I think the student turnout will be huge. Free admission, an extra game, everyone back from Holiday break. Weather looks to be decent as wellGastonApp09 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:28 pmBased on current ticket sales, I don't know if we surpass what we had last Saturday. But this time students are on campus. That's an extra 5k (Students were about half-strength for Troy).GastonApp09 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:28 pmBased on current ticket sales, I don't know if we surpass what we had last Saturday. Not sure you know how blessed you are for that.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 11:55 amAgree with you here. To me, this highlights our biggest issue: we have a small fanbase.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
I don't think this is true at all. Now if you adjust to "most of our fanbase lives outside of Boone" then sure. But as a whole, App does not have a small fan base.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:51 pmTo me, this highlights our biggest issue: we have a small fanbase.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
It's more we have a small fan base that is able to travel up for games. There are windows of students and right after graduation (after you have enough money). Then you have to get older and stable with family/kids to have the money/baby sitters/kids old enough to go/etc.

I'm not looking for trouble, but 41k showed up to see Georgia Tech play at UNC.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
Not as well as Western, more folks were at that game. I'm just saying it's always something, weather, children, opponent, holiday. I think we have a small fanbase. I'm not complaining.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:27 pmSo what you are saying is Georgia Tech travels well?appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:20 pmI'm not looking for trouble, but 41k showed up to see Georgia Tech play at UNC.
