The Courier-Journal reported about three hours ago that UL's AD has a short-list of at least five options; and that interviews will begin on Sunday with an announcement unlikely before the middle of next week.

Interestingly, the article was just updated leaving the aforementioned info out. Oh, what does that mean?

Not tryin' to be a smarta##, just pretty certain that Speir's seven-year WCU win-percentage of .363 (29-51) answers about any question that might arise about his future prospects at ASU.

His son is on the team and was his senior day. Coach Speir is an App guy between his coaching history here and his son playing here.
I don’t see him as a potential candidate to replace Satterfield in the event he leaves

Until Brohm turns Louisville down no one else matters for them. It also appears that Norvell of Memphis are Neal Brown are 2nd options. I honestly don't know why Brohm wouldn't take this job. I think his Purdue buyout is 3 million which shouldn't be a problem for Louisville.

Of the lists posted, others are better fits to Louisville imo, but if he is hired I can pull for Louisville, but can never pull for anything Hole associated had he gone to Chapel Hell.

It's home for him. Kinda like Satterfield and App. Louisville has the resources to compete and be a contender for the top of the ACC and at least top 10-15+ nationally.

Brohms buyout goes from 4.4 million to 3.3 million next wednesday. Hes just waiting it out. If he doesn't say hes not interested between now and then hes as good as gone.

With Satt's son being a raising senior at Watauga (possibly a two time State Championship on the horizon) , two winnable P5 games lined up for next season, and a possible top 25 finish (next season), maybe it's worth staying a least one more year (fingers crossed). There will be even more job opportunities next year.

This whole coaching thing is crazy. A guy can be considered a huge failure at one school in the eyes of many but is considered the next coming of Knute Rockne at the next. Fans act like one dude can turn their crap dumpster fire program into a national contender overnight. I am also amazed to read Neil Browns name mentioned all over the place while Satt just keeps winning this conference and bowl games. I’m in the camp that believes Satt will have his choice of many landing spots if he helps us possibly run the table next season. We should be scary good and Scott won’t have to chase money at a disaster.
