Safe from going back to Alabama
SunBelt just announced that whoever loses the Championship heads to the Cure Bowl. I’m fully looking forward to going to NO, but if they capture lightning in a bottle at least we get to head to Orlando.

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
Since we won our division and already beat La. are we considered the SB regular season champs? I know that doesn’t really exist but are we?

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
I like the fact that there's now somewhat of a bowl hierarchy for the SBC. Now I just hope the bowls will provide equal match-ups. I'd hate to have the SBC champion playing the 6th best C-USA team and the SBC runner-up playing the 8-9th best AAC team.

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
It really would help G5 conferences to try and pit the top with the top. Appalachian State against UAB or Middle Tennessee in New Orleans is a much more appealing to viewers than Appalachian State against LA Tech, only because they're bowl eligible and close. UCF will get left out of the playoffs again, which hopefully makes the AAC realize they are in fact viewed as G5. Then maybe all G5 conferences can come together and follow what the SBC is doing, which is what P5 conferences do. People watch bowls, people want to see the best play the best, that's all there is to it. Time for G5 to do their own thing IMO, and make the most of top conference teams.

Is it just me or does it seem like App is influencing the way things should be done? Or maybe it's just the way thing should be done are now being done and being the premiere team of the conference, the way things should be done are benefiting us.

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
This is great. Great for us and the SB. Obviously, I want us to win and go to NOLA bowl. But If not, I'll have my suitcase ready for Orlando!
And this is my other point. It gives things more structure and goals to aim for as far as bowls are concerned.

Cure Bowl will be owned by ESPN soon and will become the 2nd bowl for the SBC, this will be the new normal.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 3:48 pmIs it just me or does it seem like App is influencing the way things should be done? So if we go to New Orleans the next two years in a row, are the same fans going to get tired of "having to go back to the same bowl, year in and year out"?

People may argue that they won't "because we're winners" but people will get tired of it.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:02 pmSo if we go to New Orleans the next two years in a row, are the same fans going to get tired of "having to go back to the same bowl, year in and year out"?

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
The champion going to NOLA sounds like a "permanent" arrangement and makes sense as such. I'm not sure about this one. I wonder if this is a "this year only" arrangement based on the teams involved.

The "Going back to Nooga" song from the end of season videos is now stuck in my head.
