Did Southern Cal fans get tired of going to the Rose Bowl 7 out of 9 years (1967-1975)? Did Nebraska fans get tired of going to 4 straight Orange Bowls 1992-1995? Did App fans get tired of going to Chattanooga 3 Straight Years?GregPercussion wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:04 pmPeople may argue that they won't "because we're winners" but people will get tired of it.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:02 pmSo if we go to New Orleans the next two years in a row, are the same fans going to get tired of "having to go back to the same bowl, year in and year out"?

Montgomery and Mobile do a good job, but more variety is always nice. After 3 years in Alabama the prospect of New Orleans, Orlando, and Myrtle Beach is no doubt appealing to the players.

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
Too much to do in New Orleans, could go 10 years in a row and not get tired of it

Would help if the fun parts of NO didn’t smell horrible. But still better than AL.

I'm happy to have it set in stone for requesting off of work with as much notice as possible. Now, if we could just get an all-App flight booked with a "TBA" destination...

It's different when you are rewarded a location because you're the conference champion.Boone Goon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:02 pmSo if we go to New Orleans the next two years in a row, are the same fans going to get tired of "having to go back to the same bowl, year in and year out"?
Plus it's New Orleans, great food, great music, and 5k+ App fans on Bourbon St. would be fun every time!

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
This is similar to what I've wanted since we moved up. The best G5 continues to go to the Access Bowl, the other 4 conference champions should be matched against each other in bowls. New Orleans would be a perfect spot to host one of the "Champions Bowls"./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 3:38 pmIt really would help G5 conferences to try and pit the top with the top. Appalachian State against UAB or Middle Tennessee in New Orleans is a much more appealing to viewers than Appalachian State against LA Tech, only because they're bowl eligible and close. UCF will get left out of the playoffs again, which hopefully makes the AAC realize they are in fact viewed as G5. Then maybe all G5 conferences can come together and follow what the SBC is doing, which is what P5 conferences do. People watch bowls, people want to see the best play the best, that's all there is to it. Time for G5 to do their own thing IMO, and make the most of top conference teams.

Re: Safe from going back to Alabama
Short of a G5 auto bid to an expanded playoff, this is pretty much my ideal scenario. I'd love to see the other four G5 champions paired off in a NY6 style setup of rotating games in destination cities - Vegas, Orlando, NOLA, etc.97APP wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:11 amThis is similar to what I've wanted since we moved up.
