Man, I hate this. Thought he was going to be the QB of the future after Z. Thomas. Oh well....on to the next one.

Wow. Good thing Zac has some more time so we can go out and find the next man up. No offense to Huesman or PD, they did not do a lot for my confidence in Zac’s absence. They have time to improve though.
I like to see that Satt has a no nonsense approach to these kids. Helps us maintain our culture, which is the true strength of our program.

I hate that things didn't work out. I wish Stephon good luck moving forward. I'm sure someone will pick him up. Sounds like there just wasn't a fit and he was having trouble buying into the program.

Every kid wants the scholarship. Not everyone wants to put in the work required.

Wow. There’s a lot of reading between the lines on this. I’m sure it’s hard to from the BMOC to having to fight for every rep in practice.
I wish Brown the best of luck.

Re: Stephon Brown dismissed
Knowing that Lamb was graduating, he probably came in with the mindset that he would be the starter. Zac earns the job and now he has to take a backseat and earn his shot. These types of situations can define you as a player and a leader. Undoubtedly, it seems like he struggled with this adversity.

That's a shame. Too many talented people wasting opportunities (Price was the biggest one to me).

Based on Satt's comments I think it was more than just no longer BMOC that was the problem.

Agreed. It's a shame, but if they aren't in the "AppState mindset" and willing to wait their turn and put the work in, ON TOP OF other issues like academics and discipline. It's time to leave.

Re: Stephon Brown dismissed
I don't know if Stephon had unrealistic expectations or if that was at least part of the problem, but I think that's a problem with college football in general these days. It used to be EXTREMELY rare for a kid to start, or even play much as a freshman, especially at QB. Even super stars knew they would sit for a while and might get to start for 2 or 3 years if they were good enough. Now days, kids come in and think they're supposed to start immediately and displace upper classmen who have been in the program for a while.
One of the reasons that Bama (Ugh!) is so successful is that Saban doesn't accommodate these attitudes. There is only one prima dona at Alabama and he's the head coach.
If that was an issue or if there were already issues with him buying into the system, I'm glad Satterfield took a stand.

Re: Stephon Brown dismissed
Odd that he honored his commitment to App when he started getting P5 offers, then turn around and waste an opportunity. I hope we don't have to line up against him in the future, but hope he finds a solid landing spot and wish him well.

Very disappointed .He blew the greatest opportunity of his life to date, hopefully he has, or will, learn an expensive lesson.I hope he does and turns it around. As to us , that provides another scholarship and I will be interested to see how it's used.My top concern is holding on to our current commits .The QB looks really good, really good.

It would be hard for any kid to top the utter crash and burn of one Sean Price. He is our version of Josh Gordon..... minus the New England comeback.

What's Price been up to since he was dismissed from the team? Did he end up playing anywhere or was he in too much legal trouble?

This kid had NFL opportunity written all over him and he can’t stay out of trouble for 2 years in Boone.appstatealum wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:42 amIt would be hard for any kid to top the utter crash and burn of one Sean Price. He is our version of Josh Gordon..... minus the New England comeback.
Complete waste of talent.
I was thinking about him a couple weeks ago and tried to see what he was doing now, but the only information I could find was from his time at App.
