Let’s wait to see who UNCC offers and then steal him. Oh wait, that’s already been done.

I was not aware of Tim Horton until now but it honestly seems like the perfect fit. He would probably be an unstoppable recruiter having been the recruiting coordinator at Auburn.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 6:16 pmEarly rumblings are Tim Horton from Auburn. He already has a “posse” of App guys from the mid 90’s he could bring if we lose a handful to UL. This could be a nice grab, but I would love to retain Brown in the process.

Tim is relatively young and energetic. He is smart as heck and is a great game planner. He was a very effective Coach during his App tenure and an awesome recruiter. This would be a good hire. I have also heard that D Ledford and DG had a close relationship.

The plus side for TH is that he is another Dale Jones. He want to be here and never leave.

How about Larry Fedora at $1 per year. Holes pay $2,999,999. Use the difference on top assistants. Win win

I have heard Dwayne Ledfords name come up from several different sources as well. Good coach, good recruiting, and good P5 experience with NC state.

Re: Early: possible replacements?
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for him to stay and coach (if he's accepted a job). UL expects him to start working immediately and he has to hit the recruiting trail, meet with boosters, evaluate staff, hire staff, evaluate exiting talend, etc.appstate24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 3:43 pmI really really hope Satt stays. I just think he is such an incredible ambassador for OUR school. It’s not looking good, but I truly hope we get him at least one more year. Would love him to be here for the team we will have next year.
Either way, I really hope he and his staff coach us in New Orleans. I don’t buy the idea that he wouldn’t give us his all. He bleeds black & gold and loves these kids. I have no doubt they would be totally dialed in for MTSU.
If he does leave (praying and hanging on the every bit of hope he stays) any chance we give the keys to Coach Brown to keep him? Not to mention I think he is another incredible talent. What is everyone’s thoughts on getting Scot Sloan back up on the mountain?
I understand it and will love Satt regardless, but the situation sucks!! In a perfect world we keep Satt for another 20 years. (We can dream right?!)
Cant wait to cheer on the boys in Nola, and hopefully SS as well. GO APPS!!
For us, we need to focus on winning the bowl game while we also need to use the extra two weeks of practice to prepare for next year (that's why bowl's are so important to programs and the New Year's bowlers get 4 extra weeks of practice, while the UNC Charlotte's of the road shut it down at the end of the regular season). Plus, hopefully we are well into the process of announcing a new hire which is VERY IMPORTANT to the existing players, recruits and staff (many of which need to know if they can expect a paycheck past December).
The only way that scenario works is if there is a retiring coach, such as Paul Johnson at GT.
Re: Early: possible replacements?
He also has a $750k buyout. We aren’t paying that for a guy who just went 2-10...likely not even for a guy who went 10-2.

Re: Early: possible replacements?
We are loaded. I think I could even get us an 8-4 season as HC next year. Hope DG can find someone that will raise the bar to be a consistent top 25 team. Our next goal is to be the Boise State of the East.

Re: Early: possible replacements?
Dwayne Ledford grew up and has family an hour away.Tim Horton has just about always wanted to be the HMIC.Stacey Searles may want to come back as HC. Any of those could rally the troops and keep the momentum going. And there are others.

Re: Early: possible replacements?
I have very reputable sources saying Tim Horton would absolutely love this job and would be a guy who would not leave unless he was fired. He is a big Jerry Moore guy, so he very much understands the culture we have. He coached during that incredible stretch in the 90’s too, but has a good perspective having played in the SEC and coached/recruited in the SEC. I would expect Camerun Peoples, Harrington, and Williams Jr to be some of the most excited kids if Horton came here, Heard other names may come back as staff (Kent? for S&C)... I hope DG has a low battery on his cell phone this evening.

Tim is close friends with alot of members of the current staff. He came very close to getting the job the last time.

Tim Horton also recruited and offered our 2019 running back commit DJ Williams.
