Re: Satt and Lousville
Sounds straight up as always.
I'm thinking GaTech is quietly maneuvering. It seems like the "do more with less" and the expectations at Tech make a far better match for both.
Louisville may not be patient enough for Satts player development model to going. With Woody having already a year head start on getting his D installed it seems like all dominoes are aligned.

This is why when it happens, my two favorite teams will be App and whoever Satt is coaching.

Re: Satt and Lousville
He's gone. No doubt in my mind now. These statements are just setting up the "I had to do what's best for my family" press conference.
My bigger concern, right now, is which coaches and players he's bringing with him. Could be in for a big rebuild the next few years.

Re: Satt and Lousville
I think since he's hired Sexton and it's public knowledge he's shopping, then maybe it is time for him to move on. If not this year, it's going to be an every year occurrence until he gets to where he wants to be. That becomes a recruiting distraction and makes it difficult to build a "powerhouse". If he does stay for at least one more year, I think Gillin should hold him to the current contract amounts and not throw any more money at him. Just my opinion.

Re: Satt and Lousville
I agree. He is good, but there are others. As the players say...."Next man up". We have a good thing going and I would rather move on now. We have options and we have a brand for a good coach to recruit to. We will be fine.AppSt91 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:25 pmI think since he's hired Sexton and it's public knowledge he's shopping, then maybe it is time for him to move on. Re: Satt and Lousville
Man y'all move on fast. I mean it's been pretty clear he's interested in moving to a bigger stage for a few years now, but even if he's dead-set on Louisville, they haven't actually, you know, offered him the job yet as far as we know.
Scott, if things don't work out with Louisville (or GT or whoever), I for one will still welcome you back at App. I'm just magnanimous like that.

Scott is expected to talk with Tyra Sunday or Monday; most likely in NYC where the Football Foundation's annual fundraising dinner will be held Tuesday evening. The Louisville Courier-Journal has reported that at least three coaches--maybe four will get an interview early in the new week.
Then, there's ol' Georgia Tech hanging out a "help wanted" sign. Watch out for the Jackets.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

When Jerry lost that last playoff game I remember packing up our stuff for the small children we had then. He lingered around the field longer than usual and by himself for the most part. He appeared to be taking the Rock in one last time. It will be interesting to watch Scott post game. I’d love to have him one more season we could be special next year.

Don’t think for 1 minute that Scott and the family wouldn’t be emotional about leaving. You just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to coach a good P5 program and secure your financial future by the time you are 50.

Re: Satt and Lousville
IF Satterfield leaves, I would much prefer he go to Georgia Tech. I’ve just never liked Louisville. I think Tech is a more reputable school and program, even if they don’t have as much success to brag about. Plus, I live close to Athens, GA and UGA fans can be insufferable. I’d love to see Satt beat Kirby Smart. Pretty much the only thing I like about Georgia fans is that they hate The Stink too.asu66 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 2:35 amScott is expected to talk with Tyra Sunday or Monday; most likely in NYC where the Football Foundation's annual fundraising dinner will be held Tuesday evening. For what it’s worth, according to someone very high up in the GT program, they’re interested in someone from the NFL right now... Not Satterfield.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 7:07 pmSounds straight up as always.

All signs point to Ken Whisenhunt. All signs have been wrong before. It would be interesting to see how he works with their current roster offensively.

Re: Satt and Lousville
Not in the know, but I haven’t seen his name associated with GT at all. At least not from their side.
Whisenhut, Alabama’s OL coach and Clemson’s co-OC are the names I am consistently seeing associated with this position.
If we can somehow avoid losing him to Louisville, I like our chances of keeping him another 2-3 years till his kids are out of school, unless Mack Brown is out of the picture before then
