Sounds like this might be a negotiating tactic to try and save money on Satterfield. I hope it's not, maybe it's some super big named coach they can't live without. One can dream. But if Satt does take the job, hopefully he gets paid big!!

Could just be trying to get Satterfield to pull the trigger more quickly.

He's too smart to fall for those type tricks.

The sun will come up tomorrow regardless and App State will still be App State (and Sun Belt Champs). Amazing how programs from Charlotte to Statesboro and beyond are dismissing their shortcomings and hanging their hats on our coach leaving resulting in the destruction of our football program. I'm afraid they will be sorely disappointed. We have a rich history that precedes 2014 and whether Coach Satterfield's chapter lasts another hour or another 30 years, there will be more to come for us.
Last week was emotionally draining, and honestly, I'm just ready for the news, whatever it is. We will survive, and then thrive- Because that's just who we are. And regardless of whatever news comes our way, remember this- Scott Satterfield has been, and will always be, a true Mountaineer who loves OUR university, and has always given his all for it. There should be no hard feelings and only gratitude.

Go APP!!!

L'ville AD seems a bit like DG.

Matt Canada emerging may be promising; perhaps Satt said no....

"Source tells FootballScoop Matt Canada is speaking with Tyra today. Canada earned accolades from some for the way he held things together at Maryland this season.

Prior to joining Maryland’s staff as offensive coordinator for DJ Durkin, Canada had spent one year as LSU’s offensive coordinator, one year at Pitt’s, 3 seasons as NC State’s, one as Wisconsin’s, one at Northern Illinois, etc…"

He's got a lot of P5 experience including working at 2 other ACC schools

Sounds like Louisville is desperately trying to find a “big name” no matter what.

So true! It must be in their daily talking points memo about App. You can't make this stuff up, they are literally saying:

"App is at their peak now. If I was an up and coming coach I would not want that job."

"Hanging around 5-7 wins at charlotte is better on your resume than avg 8 wins at a school that is a top 40 program the past few year."

Between App being at our peak now, coaching consistency and having an 80 year head start, they just have a barrel full of excuses as to why the football program is successful.

According to this article, Satterfield is still the top pick and has met with Louisville.

He may go to GT, but I feel there are other “big name” candidates that may be more appealing to them.
Hopefully we can find out on both soon and stop taking laps around the anxiety pool.

Football Scoop just did an update on GaTech basically saying Satt could be a candidate there if Louisville doesn't happen.

Ga Southern chatter is fine with me, part of the rivalry and they have the history and success to back it up.

Please don't let any chatter from UNCC give you a moment's concern...that program is a joke, not one winning season in 6 years including 2 at FCS when they played a joke of a schedule...tell them once they have a few winning seasons (.500 or better) then we will take them seriously, as of now not even on our radar. Also, they should know we want them to have some success, another regional rivalry is what we need and will be waiting for them to get up to speed.

Also, they just botched their second coaching hire, not good. Unless they had a planned successor (which looks like they did not), probably should have kept Lambert because (in my opinion) what they need is some stability over this first decade for recruiting and fan support. They actually had decent season, 4-4 in CUSA and played Tennessee tough, but instead of building on that they are starting over in year 7...look forward to stomping them at KBS next season.

It just said GT would be crazy not to meet with him if he isn’t the next Louisville HC.
Maybe there is more going on behind the scenes, but there just seems to be so many other people being mentioned in front of him that I don’t know if GT is an option for him even though it’s seems a better fit/gig than Louisville.
