The nostalgic fan in me likes the idea of seeing Coach Moore in the headset one more time, but the pragmatist knows his days roaming the sidelines, even for a single game, are behind him.

If I were DG, I would consult with the team captains and perhaps seniors on the team seeking their recommendation for whom should lead us in New Orleans. Emotions are running high for fans, imagine how much for the players. I think involving players would serve to strengthen purpose amid a sense of loss.

This thread is full of stupid ideas so far.
Brown as interim unless Satt takes him to Kentucky.

One way to most assuredly lose Ivey is to overlook the fact that he is the Assistant Head Coach currently

Brown and Ivey co-coach the dang bowl. It ain’t rocket science. It’s one more “fun” game for the guys to play. Totally agree with NO to JM. He will always be an App legend, there should be a statue of him outside the stadium or the field named in his honor but no more walking the sidelines. Gotta keep moving forward.

Re: Bowl Game Coach?
Why not coach Moore? In the 80s there was talk of bringing Kidd Brewer back, before they hired Coach Moore. Not a lock of difference, heck he could be brought on as the Associate Head Coach for the game.

Re: Bowl Game Coach?
As a fan, the idea of having Coach Moore back for one game is incredible. I really don't know how that plays out in the locker room or on the field. If this were done, I'd say that he would largely be a motivator and administrator and that the coordinators would have control over their respective functions. Seems like it could work but I really don't know. It would allow the OC / DC to remain more focused on their roles.
From a player perspective, it could be cool to have a Hall of Fame coach pinch hitting for the one who just left, as long as it isn't perceived as a slight to any of the existing staff.
