Yeah this thread will end up on every one of our rivals message boards now.
“The Appy’s seriously think they could get Urban Meyer!!!”
So stupid.
Why not make a thread about Sean mcvay and Bill Belichick while we are at it?

How about this "Son of a Gun"
I don't think you have to get your blood pressure up or lose any sleep over Urban coaching out Mountaineers under scenario or circumstance.appst89 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 10:35 amI'm willing to state unequivocally right now that I would absolutely reject him as our head coach and my opinion of Gillin would drop considerably for even pursuing such a known cancer to a program.Apptrain wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 10:29 amYou are taking this stance because you know the likelihood of him coming here is next to 0, so you’re not worried about having to defend your thoughts later. And I am worried about our long term future. You think attendance has been down. Wait until we bring in an unproven coach and take a nose dive for years. Other great football schools have had this happen despite their football “culture” . And I bet all these “absolutely nots” and such would turn to “Wow, how did Gillin pull this off” if he was hired. I’m realistic and know the chances are slim, but I’m not willing to say I would reject him if he became our coach. I doubt any these naysayers would either when we turn into the next UCF.HighPointApp wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:01 amRound 2 between you and I.
Why lose/sacrifice our morals and culture for the sake of winning a New Years Day bowl? That is a stupid way to win.
Our AD will not sacrifice our culture just to win.
This type of thinking is very narrow minded and shows a lack of long range thinking. I’m glad you’re not in charge of our athletics program.
This my friend is important. We must take PETA seriously.
2010: Ohio State 12 - 1 All wins vacatedappstatealum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:58 amYou got me wrong.... Urban is a phenomenal football coach. Most wins in 17 year span, 3 NCs...... but he is a liar, he doesn’t care about student athletes and he is a culture killer. He is the last thing we need in Boone. We would win, but sacrifice our souls long term.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:32 amUrban Meyer is retiring for health issues, who would pass on the money the $9M he makes? He may be an ass.appstatealum wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:02 amNo way. This guy is a scumbag and I have a history of hating every team he has ever coached. We talk about getting a guy that fits our culture...... This guy would destroy every element of what the Black and gold stands for all for the sake of winning. We would win, but die in his wake.
No thanks
Didn't Jerry Moore go to Utah and study Urban's offense before we implemented the spread? Don't hate on Urban too bad, he had a hand in our earlier success.
Like I said, no thank you.
Urban is only 54 years old, which is no where near retirement age for a coach. Not to mention that his 'retirement' is a smoke screen for the issues he caused at OSU. Nothing more, nothing less. He'll be coaching high level P5 or NFL football within 5 years, and I'll take the under on that number. Furthermore, I'd rather have an up and coming coach who's going to grind out to make us the best he possibly can than some scum bag treating the job and program as his retirement hobby. We are much better than that.Apptrain wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:47 amIf money is a major motivation for him still then you are right. But, if like many of us as we age, he is ready to drop back to a less pressurized job but still wants to coach, we could provide him a little pocket change, along with a nice little place to retire.
GOAPPS37 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 5:45 amDon't laugh but what about Urban Meyer as our next HC? Sure, he says he is going to retire after the bowl game but I want to believe he simply wants to get away from Ohio State and all the crap he has dealt with especially during this season. I want to think he still wants to coach for several more years and what better place to continue than in Boone with a solid program awaiting your arrival and away from the limelight he has been so accustomed to. You say, "we can't afford him". Heck, he has made so much money during his career, maybe he would be perfectly be fine with a $900,000 range contract and love the thought of settling down in a quiet little town in the most beautiful part of the state and finish out his coaching career. At least we would be somewhat confident this position would be his last and not a stepping stone for a bigger gig somewhere else. He has already experienced that. I know this is a far fetched idea, but I think it is at least worth a try for DG to make a call to gauge any interest. Mack Brown came back to coaching at age 67, why not Urban Meyer simply continuing his profession at age 54?
