MTSU buying tix for students.
MTSU Coach is buying tickets for students. Is anyone aware of anything App is doing to help students get to the game?

Re: MTSU buying tix for students.
I don’t complain about our athletic dept. much if ever, but the marketing of our conference championship and upcoming bowl has been essentially nonexistent. How hard is it to make a splash page as soon as you log in to appstatesports.com? Why have we not been promoting ticket sales for the bowl game? This is a great idea by MTSU, and one we should strongly consider. We also need to do something to make it as easy as possible for the students to get to the game (buses, etc.).
Come on guys, this is the game we have all been clamoring for and we finally made it. What is our school doing to get as many students, alumni, fans to the game?? GO APPS!!

I try not to be critical but I have grumpy old man syndrome more and more.
We had a pretty good idea that we’d be in orlando or NO early enough to develop some potential options for students and be ready to execute after the win Saturday. I’m somewhat disappointed we haven’t done more to help students attend.

THIS! Remove the burden of planning for students. I guarantee if there were a series of charter tour buses tons of students would go. They don't need to worry about hotels, most of the kids would AirBnB it. Just help them get there and come back.

While I think buses and free tickets are a great idea I don’t think it’s possible with the academic calendar here at the holidays
Last day of exams is Dec 13. I am sure the dorms close that same day.
So even if they bused them down that day where would they stay in NO and if they got back late in Boone where would they stay that night.
And there is a banner or Goasu.com for the bowl when I hit the site. Perhaps some have permanently by passed.

Students who want to go will find away to go. It's the rest of us I'm worried about.

My point is MTSU seems more engaged in building attendance than does App.

They may need to provide tickets just to get some people to attend. Looks like their average home attendance this past season was less than 16,000, and they had a good team.

Just gotta say I am a bit put off by the absolute lack of information and planning released so far by App. Really not much real information of any substance yet. Go over and visit the Blue Raider website and see everything they have going on. First is a one hour TV type program listing ticket info, bus trip info, booster club, student info and alumni information, bar takeovers, etc. They also have info on their Alumni Tailgate already up including where and times. Let's go Mountaineers, at this rate they will definitely have more folks at the bowl and more well informed than we are. This whole coacing change has really seemed to take us off our game.

Man its killing me but I may not be able to make the game but what I would be willing to do and I would challenge others on this board to do the same is buy and donate the tickets to students who want to go.
Anyone on the board have the student Yosef club president contact info or any way to set this up??

You are right about this. It's like they can't walk and chew gum. Have you brought your critique to the attention of anyone in alumni affairs or athletics?AppTraveler wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 2:34 pmJust gotta say I am a bit put off by the absolute lack of information and planning released so far by App. Really not much real information of any substance yet.
