He may just be learning the ropes. After all, he is not officially our coach yet and he does not coach the D line at Bama. What did it hurt to finish up on a commit with the greatest coach in the game today. Maybe Saban promised to take him out for a celebration night in NYC..... lots of possibilities.

If it does end up being Gattis, is it a next step in the lWinston-Salem old money circle long term plan to get WFU straight on football? Why not arrange a cozy coaching deal like this where one of their favorite sons will be successful and then WFU can swoop in and get their next coach and AD in a few years.
DG probably hangs in those circles due to IMG and Gattis and DG could be a package deal to take over at Wake in a few years when Welman gives it up.
