Doesn’t even make sense why we interviewed him. He has no ties, so it’s not even like it’s a courtesy interview.

This has drug on long enough, dammit. Good, bad or indifferent, I just want to know.
This is like waiting for Christmas, except you may get exactly what you want, or you might get a box of cat $hit... but you have to keep waiting to find out. Also, you don’t know exactly what day Christmas is. It might be tomorrow, or 3 days from now

It wont be Montgomery , Doug is not insane. McNeil has the resume so it wouldn’t surprise me.

Scottie Mo: F
Gattis: A
Ruffin: C-
Ledford: A-
Sloan: B+
Woody: A-
Ivey B+
Ruffin C+ (He had some bad luck at ECU and some of it was his fault too)
The rest I wouldn't change except for a grade of worse than F for Mo but at the time can't think of one.

Re: Board of trustees
I heard there has been a unscheduled Charter flight in from NPA. The last minute candidate has many years of unparalleled experience. Was key to forming\putting together one of the nations most storied teams. Known for lightning fast nimble schemes, and a group culture that works year round giving their all. He has always been known to deliver satisfactory results on time (except for one year, and there was even a movie made about that year). He is considered above reproach as a family man. Yes my friends, on a carpet of fresh white snow Santa came to interview.

Santa would be great but he is awfully busy in the fall so dunno how that schedule would work. Elves would be calling in the plays. Elf on the shelf would be elves in the headsets.

That search should start the minute Scottie is hired. Maybe even if it's ruffin...

Re: Board of trustees
McNeil has big question marks. It is my understanding he left ECU in quite a mess. That and their AD didn’t put Mo in the best of positions to succeed. I am not advocating for either. Just the more I have read up and learned, I don’t think McNeil is what we want on the Mountain.
And I was someone that was intrigued when I first saw his name on the short list.

AppState 247 did not “confirm it wasn’t Gattis.” The guy who runs the site has been straightforward that he does not know who it will be or won’t be.ComebackShack wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:09 pmJust subscribed to App State 247 page. AppStateMania on there just confirmed it wasn’t Gattis and apparently others have dropped Scottie Montgomery as an option. AppStateMania is pretty legit, right? If so, it ain’t Gattis.

Re: Board of trustees
We don't need ECU leftovers.
Look ... Gattis is a risk hire for sure but he comes from Bama and PSU.
I just don't get it. Ruffin was DC at Oklahoma. Anyone see their defense this year?
Yeah they didn't either.

Re: Board of trustees
I mean players seem to love him and I think he's a great recruiter. He did a lot of interesting things as Duke's OC. I'd hate the hire but I've heard worse named mentioned (like Searles and Horton.) Scottie inherited an absolute disaster at ECU. Ruffin left the cupboard bare, they were in a new conference, had all sorts of AD issues, etc. Scottie sure didn't make things any better but the program was in rough shape when he got there. He'd do better here in a situation where he inherits a loaded roster.
This is not me advocating for Scottie. I think it'd be a terrible hire right now. This is just me trying to make some sense of it if there's any truth to the rumors. There's a lot of people out there that still think Scottie could be a good coach ONE day, and I guess I'm one of those people. He ain't what we need right now though.

App mania confirming not Scottie or ruffin. Friends, I think we are in for a genuine surprise. Better hope it's a good one.
