Re: Board of trustees
Serious question - why is everyone so stoked on Gattis? He hasn't even been a coordinator somewhere. He's Bama's WR coach...and? That qualifies him to be our HC how exactly?
Question may sound sarcastic but it's not. Position coach does not equal "can successfully run a high level program." Transitive property seems to be in full effect here...

Re: Board of trustees
Also this Dooley talk is absolute insanity. Horrible idea, horrible HC. Are you guys kidding? We can do way better than that.

Carly Simon's "Anticipation" has been playing in my mind for two days straight....

If it is Gattis that is fine but if we continue to win like we have i see him young as he is baililng for a bigger gig in just 1 or 2 years. To me if the AD has confidence that he could be a good head coach, Nate Woody would be the best hire. He is 57 i think. He has already tried to move up only to have Johnson retire on him after a year. He knows the program. With him we probably keep all the remaining assistant coaches as long as he is for keeping them. Most players already know him. At his age there is at least a chance he stays until he decides to retire even if we keep churning out wins.

Re: Board of trustees
Woody honestly would be a sneaky hire... It wouldn't excite a lot of us, but wouldn't be a bad hire in my book. He is known to be a little "different", so it would be vital to have a good staff around him, especially for recruiting.
My only concern with Nate would be how the kids respond to him as HCIC.

The dozen or so who just arrived here in the last few days. The ones who throw out random names without a shred of evidence to see everyone squirm over the thought. The ones who only post on threads regarding this coaching change.

Re: Board of trustees
My current top 3:
1. Gattis
2. Coley
3. Ledford
Coley would be awesome. He’s super high energy. Could really see him being a top 10 paid coach in the country one day.

Re: Board of trustees
Just a thought for you Guys that are tracking flights to Hickory. The meeting this morning is a teleconference call and DG is in New Orleans. If we are going to have an announcement for a new coach would it not happen in New Orleans instead of Boone?
