I was at the Yosef Club Spring Tour stop in Charlotte and I remember Satt speaking about a recruit that Woody flipped to GT after leaving App. He said “if [Woody] were here I would probably punch him in the face.” He didn’t seem to be joking.

I wonder if he changed his mind now.
My money is on Nate.
Can new coach reinstate Brown and convince him to stay? Or would he? That's the question.

Drink has coached Ryan Finley and was a QA coach with Cam Newton during the Championship run.... Satt's worked with who... Taylor Lamb?

With Jackson from UCLA coming in, I'm way more comfortable with our QB situation.
Jackson was a walk-on, 6th string QB at UCLA? Baker Mayfield was a walk-on but an exception, rather than the rule. I doubt Gibbs will ever start at App.

Why would he do that? Not a good look for the new guy to reinstate someone who was kicked off the team for discipline reasons.

Not to mention, I don’t think brown was learning/ performing the way he was expected on or off the field. If Drink is the right guy, he will bring in someone better all the way around. We have a couple more years to find our next Qb it seems anyway

He was referring to Coach Bryan Brown who followed Satt to UL, not the QB Stephon Brown that was released from the team.

Ahhh. My bad. I thought we were still talking Qb's here and what to do if we lost Conley.
Brian Brown is gone. He has already been announced at UL. If he wasn't interested in taking the HC job at App (assuming he was approached about it as rumored) he aint staying to be DC at App for MUCH less $$. Unless Woody gets canned in the next couple of days, I doubt we could afford to get him back either. I am hoping for Ivey and Jones to be Co-DCs

The News & Observer beat writer for N.C. State says on Twitter that he wouldn’t be surprised to see Ryan Finley’s brother, 2020 QB Ben Finley, flip his commitment to App. That’s just one person’s opinion but interesting nonetheless.

Jackson Gibbs should have all 4 years of his eligibility left right? He was redshirted at UCLA, had to sit out this season because of the transfer.
I could be wrong but I’m not certain he’s actually on scholarship at this moment. I do know that he did NOT have to sit out this past year as he was able to obtain a waiver due to his dads health. So next year he’ll be a RS-SO

I don't know the circumstances surrounding Brown's dismissal. If it was something frivolous or possibly a disagreement with coach because of the fact that Thomas seemed entrenched as the starter then it would make sense to invite him back if he wanted to compete.

With a new coach no position is set in stone.

Having not been to practices, I can't gauge his talent level. But his high school film gives the impression of being an FCS level starter and career back-up in FBS. I suspect Drunk will be looking for a guy in the mold of a Rypien or Finley. Brown would've fit that but he gon'.

It will be interesting to see what Thomas can do with a more sophisticated passing game and the ability to have 40 touches a game though. Just hope he doesn't get hurt because there is a continental shelf behind him.

Actually, I think the discussion was on the QB Brown, my bad, and I agree that it'd send a bad signal if he were reinstated. It was stated that he had on & off field issues as well as academic issues.

He actually fits Drinks style more than Scott's. I think our run first style is about to change.

Again, I wasn't aware of the reason for his dismissal from the team.

However, black and white, the world is not.

Just remember that our new coach will also come with recruits in mind from his previous gig. There is absolutely nothing scandalous about Scott talking to recruits that he already has a relationship with.
There is one glaring difference in that comparison

I was being snarky, but your probably right it won’t change in 2019 because that’s what we are built to do right now

Maybe not since our new coach is coming from a P5. And not really anyway since Conley was not a P5 recruit.
WE ARE YOSEF!
