DG and an alternate plan?
Late yesterday afternoon the following post appeared on Page 19 of the "Board of Trustees" thread...
DG is in Nawlins. He was talking about how things have taken some twists and turns in this process with a reporter earlier I read somewhere.

I've been worried and pacing the floor at home ever since. I fear that someone (like maybe Saban and Gattis) have thrown a wrench into the works forcing DG to shift to an alternate plan and an alternate candidate...aka...panic mode. I'm reading tea leaves here, but bear with me. I read an excerpt from a 'Bama newsletter just after lunch yesterday that addressed the fact that Gattis (making $525,000) was considering App and that Saban could and would pay him more if it became necessary. The article went as far as to say that Saban "always gets what he wants. He always has a plan."
Suppose Saban offered to raise Gattis $200,000 to get him to $725,000 and threw in promises of extras to keep Gattis from bolting for at least another season? This could explain why Gattis was with Saban in Rahway, NJ last night and why no one can find a scheduled flight from TCL to MSY.
This could also explain all the late naysayers about Gattis being our guy and explain all of the Scotty Mo, McNeil, etc references that surfaced late. Geez, nooooo, say it ain't so!
I started not to post this since it's so far-fetched, but something obviously happened to throw DG a curve ball. I'm afraid it wasn't anything good. Sure hope I'm way, way off base with my wild imagination.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

To borrow a term from an old move and apply it to the Death Star - They have more money than God
It is ridiculous money, numbers of advisors, and staff, and folks in the program that never even get work the sidelines for a football program, unfathomable. Education likes use the jargon or teacher/student, always with 1 staff to more pupils, I'd bet Nick has the inverse of that ratio in his program staff/student athlete. behind the scenes. If Nick wants it to happen it'll happen.

I took it to mean the Ledford deal, where he was our top choice, then he decided to go to UL. Don’t know for sure. Guess we will see... sometime

I could be wrong but i don’t believe you schedule a BOT meeting to approve the guy unless he is for sure the guy. I don’t think any wrenches have been thrown at all, just DG playing this close to his vest. One things been clear, no one here on this board knows what’s going on lol. If they come out of that meeting this morning and no hire is made then I’ll buy into this doomsday scenario of wrenches being thrown and what not. Until then..

Satterfield had a pretty full work day on our behalf the day before he took the Louisville job.

From the sound of it, Gattis was a late interviewee, he combined with what happened with Ledford could be the twist.
Truthfully, I'm done speculating. My final 3 are Coley, Gattis and Woody. I'd be fine with any of them.

There are some things that fans just don't need to know. Let the process take its course and have faith that it all works out. What else can you do?

You don't need to know how the sausage is made. We pay DG roughly $300k to make well informed decisions. Throwing fan's emotions into the mix gets you Tennessee for the past ten years or Notre Dame in a down year.
