Folks, let's debate this hire on its merits and not bring unnecessary distractions into the discussion.

Wonder if yall said the same about Jerry when he was hired. He had no ties either.

Nor Charlie Cobb except some dreamed up crap about an aunt or something.

Everybody beat Louisville 52-10

He beat EZU 58-3. Of course everybody but Carolina beat them like that, too. ;)

This one time...at band camp...I ran into another player with my trumpet, and spit some blood on the turf.

But my guts stayed fully encased in my body, soooooo.

Lets hope he has learned his lesson.

I’m thankful you weren’t in any way connected with this search.
There was always a play calling gripe thread after games, but that was the first I recall before we played a game.

We will know whether it was a good or bad hire , in two or three years.
We'll know next year if it was a really bad hire. If he loses more than 2 games next year = bad hire.
Like someone else said earlier... he just got the keys to our Ferrari! Don't crash it!
We are an injury away from a nosedive next year given our situation at QB.Perhaps that can be addressed sooner rather than later, I hope so.A hiccup though and I can see potentially 3 or 4 losses. We play a couple of tough non conference road games and a slate of improving Sunbelt squads all of which will have our game “ circled”. We should be favored in all but two of our games , barring unforeseen circumstances but running the conference table is not something we’ve done in FBS.So , less than a conference championship would be a letdown, but I’m judging no one on one season.Thats how I see it anyway.

Can we all temper our expectations and pressure on a new coach? I get it, he's taking over a very talented, young, and deep football team but I'm not willing to put "anything more than 2 losses is a failure" on a new guy. Would I be disappointed with 3 or more losses? Yes, but I wouldn't call the guy a failure.

Sigh.....no guarantees we don’t go 8-4 next year with Satt at the helm.

Obviously everyone is forgetting the game at GaSO. If we get injured next year then we could easily go 8-4 or 4-8.

Satt was coaching that one and we looked like a bunch of monkeys to an inferior team on national television.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the offense improved. But, like they say and we proved this season, defense wins championships and this year’s defensive performance will be tough to duplicate.

Ah hell...there are no guarantees of the sun coming up either. App Nation needs to embrace the new coach and move forward. As far as recruiting if we don’t get what we want bank the scolly.

Gillen is having a breakfast with some Yosef donors Friday or Saturday morning. A friend of mine will be there and will give us a report.

You ain't kidding. Geez that was some bad mojo we had down there. We should spike the gatorade with that nasty eagle creek crap they have.
