Re: New Head Coach - Eliah Drinkwitz
I really like Ivey, and really hope we can keep him, but I’m not sure if he would have been the best HC candidate at this time. We can’t see the future, but very few , if any, would have complained if we hired Ledford. Drinkwitz is probably a smarter and more polished offensive guy than Ledford, the only difference is he’s not an App guy; yet.
I really hope he tries to keep the coaches who want to stay, then I will be interested in what kind of staff he assembles. Not sure if he’s used to trying to find quality coaches in our price point, but I don’t see any huge red flags at this point.
Hopefully we can keep Ivey, and when drink moves on one way or another, Ivey will be ready for the HC gig

His crystal ball must be more accurate than DG and the input he got, and what most of us think after reading up on Drink and hearing him talk football. DG wasted so much time when all he needed to do was ask him. Hell, go ahead and fire and rehire I guess.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 10:15 amAre you ever positive about anything?ASUTodd wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 9:09 amI don't post JUST to piss people off.... I can't help my posts offend the koolaid drinkers. I hope you guys and gals (jcline), get a chance to gloat at how good a coach Drink turns out to be. I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know the future. I have no special insight into the workings of App State football. What I do have is love for my school and an opinion, which like an @nus sometimes stinks. My opinion is that this wasn't our best hire. It is what it is. Only time will tell. With that, I bid you all adieu until the next enjoyable thread is started where I will use it as a platform to further my takeover of Earth. If you have some self awareness about who we are, meaning Saban ain’t applying for this job, I don’t see how someone could be so negative about this hire. This guy is extremely well regarded in his profession. Is a bright young offensive mind. Has been a coordinator for 4-5 years at big time football programs. I mean really. Whether or not he was on the radar as a candidate for any of us fans is 100% irrelevant.

He didn't work for Mike. He came from Ohio State with far more qualifications than anyone we've had. S&C is in good shape.
