2018- What a season!
What an unbelievable season!
The epic Penn State game- The best thing was that this wasn’t a shocker. PSU took us very seriously and we competed and won tremendous respect, nationally.
Curb stomping Charlotte- Taking over their stadium, showing potential QC recruits the vast difference between the two programs. I’ll always remember players breaking away to run over and thank fans after the game.
Ark State beatdown- They had it coming for so long. Lost Jalin, but the image of his last play, will be etched in Mountaineer lore forever.
AP Ranking- More history. Short-lived, but SHOULD be repeated in the final rankings.
Fighting back- After disaster, the team rallying on the road behind a backup QB to reman in contention.
Final Homestand.
In the crappiest weather, but with the loudest crowds, picking up 3 huge wins which sent us to NOLA.
SBC Champions- Accomplishing goal #1 and making history by hosting and winning the first ever conference championship game- on ESPN.
4 for 4
Capping off the amazing season by shaking off the loss of our beloved Head Coach and Coordinators to destroy MTSU and show that App State football is here to stay. Doing it in front of legend Jerry Moore and future legend Eliah Drinkwitz only added icing on the cake.
Thanks to the greatest players, coaches, AD, and fans in the nation for a remarkable season.

tickets. When ESPN announcers talk about us having something truly special on the mountain, we should realize it and do everything in our power to keep it that way. Boise State and UCF are in view and getting closer every day.
See you in September!

Agreed. I could not even read the MMB for a week afterwards.
I got over it.

Nice reminder of just how awesome it’s been this year. Saying that, I can’t help myself from being excited for the next one! Our past is great, our current is fantastic and our future is even brighter!

10.25 wins per year over the last 4 with 4 Bowl wins. Who has matched that?

Re: 2018- What a season!
At the start of the season I wanted the SB Championship in Boone and a W by App State in the box score. I even mentioned somewhere, and likely here, I wanted the SB championship to happen more than a bowl win this year, not that I wanted to lose a bowl game really.
So glad we got a W for both!

Re: 2018- What a season!
With last night's win, App State solidified its ranking as the best DI football program in the State of North Carolina this year, having the best record of all FBS and FCS football programs. We're making waves, people, and those waves are being felt across this great state. It's time to look to the future and continue to be the best we can be.
1. App State: 11-2
2. NC A&T: 10-2
3. NC State: 9-3 (could go 10-3 or 9-4 with bowl results)

We also didn't play a game this year as well. (Some others didn't too) but still got the top spot.8993 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 12:15 pmWith last night's win, App State solidified its ranking as the best DI football program in the State of North Carolina this year, having the best record of all FBS and FCS football programs. 1700 miles, great food, great coaching, unreal players, great venue, the band in control of music, etc. After a 13 hour drive, I couldn’t wait and went ahead and watched the game and trophy ceremony. So proud of this team. 1 thing I was a little disappointed in, was the recognition of our fans. Everywhere I went in NO there were Apps. Our sideline was packed and feel we traveled extremely well. Loud, active, and numerous, we showed well. Great job to everyone who made the trip, yes, even you young man who passed out mid game in your seat, you gave your all.

And what a season it was....
On First Team today we were compared to UCF and had we beaten Penn State and GaSo we would have had a much better shot at playoff with a better sos amd resume.

Re: 2018- What a season!
We can "what if" all we want about 2018, but it will go down in history as a great season. We are a team that lands on our feet when stricken with obstacles. I feel the 2019 season has the potential to be one the best every seen.
Love that we checked a lot of boxes this year. But lets hope Coach Drink can knock off UNC and SC and we'll be in a great spot.

If we play up to our potential next year and run the table with two P5 wins, how high do you think we go?

Re: 2018- What a season!
Probably in the 12-16 range. We'd be there this year with all the turnover in the top 25 this year if we had beat GaSo too. More teams than ever before got in to the top 25 this year because of all the teams that lost in the 15-25 range pretty much every week.PennywiseEsquire wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 5:01 pmIf we play up to our potential next year and run the table with two P5 wins, how high do you think we go?
Re: 2018- What a season!
This year’s team was the best team App has ever put on the field. By far. Case in point: when MUTS resorted to dirty shots, and i saw three instances on the spot, App remained disciplined and did not respond in kind. That took a lot of character and discipline playing as a team and not a group of individuals. Good job! We whooped a pretty good team on espn in nawlins. Wow! Its still kinda hard to believe. I cannot WAIT until next season.
