Having Woody back would be quite an accomplishment. From a players perspective that would be the closest thing that could be hoped for continuity.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 9:18 pmWoody was let go by the Jackets, so there is no buyout. If he were to Coach next year, the amount owed to him would be reduced by what he is making with the new employer.app97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 9:15 pmhttps://www.ajc.com/sports/college/nate ... g8NNW5wCP/Appstate88 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 5:00 pmIsn’t Nate Woody coaching a bowl game on the 26th. I would wait until 27th for that Coach Drink Christmas .
Not that it’s impossible, but I’m not sure Woody could be compensated at App anywhere close to what he was making at GT this year, unless buyout $ from Tech is a factor.

I'm a little new to where the funds come from for the coaching pool. I think I read that U of L had a donors foundation that pays or helps pay a large chunk of the FB staff salaries. Did I misunderstand or is university money supplemented by a foundation? If so, does App have such an organization?

He’s done well enough so far that I have faith.ComebackShack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 3:22 pmJust hope that Drink doesn’t ruin this with the DC pick. Worried.

Bumping my comment above from Friday...... Nevertheless, it still is relevant. I told you we had some exciting hires coming, and Eli is not done yet.appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 6:33 pmThere are some exciting hires coming right around the corner. Drink is the real deal folks. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Ps- I wish I knew more about the Roof thing, but logically, I’m just not seeing it as a good fit. Especially since we cant pay him close to what he is getting paid now.

I was under the impression Yosef Club donations went to athlete scholarships, not coaching salaries. Proud to say I have given 110% at the level I could afford the past 4 years. The wife and I already discussed moving up a level in '19...which basically means the boss lady gave me permission!! I for one would happily forego a China-made scarf gift also to allow more money to go to fund either scholarships or salaries.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 10:14 pmYeah. Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Yosef is for scholly’s. However, since we do not fully fund with Yosef we have to use dollars that could be allocated to salaries/facility upgrades/program enhancements/ etc. for scholarships. That’s ~$4 million that could be used elsewhere if scholly’s were fully funded by Yosef annually.Appster99 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 23, 2018 10:38 pmI was under the impression Yosef Club donations went to athlete scholarships, not coaching salaries. This is why it is critical for everyone to join and give, no matter how small or large the amount. Every dollar adds up.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Just read where Ken Dorsey has joined Coach Drinks staff as an Offensive Assistant.
Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
I agree Woody returning could be good but Drink said he wanted to run multi D sets. As far as I know Woody only runs the 3-4. Also seems he's want to stay at the P5 level, but if named DC and Asst. HC, might be attractive though would he and Drink have the relationship for that?

Nice quote in 12up.com article - "After working for the Carolina Panthers as a quarterbacks coach and scout and then going to FIU as an assistant athletic director, Dorsey is now set to take a new job at fairly high-level college football program."

Reports are also in that Satterfield has dismissed all current Louisville players and all current APP players are transferring to Louisville. He is also having the grass hill removed from our stadium and transplanting it to Louisville's stadium.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Someone here stated that the Defensive Coordinator would want to hire their own staff so no more defensive assistant hired would be made until the DC position was filled.
Two guys were retained who previously coached under Woody as defensive position coaches. If it wasn't Woody, I'd believe that these positions would've stayed open. Even had Woody not already been here, he would still be one of the more qualified guys that App could get.

Reliable sources are saying Satterfield has loaded up the ice machines from the stadium as well, and they are chipping the beard off the Yosef statue as well. Someone needs to stop him before he takes some of App coaching staff as well.
