Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
"Link brings more championship background to Tech's football staff. The former Drake player served as Gene Chizik's special teams quality control coach on Auburn's 2010 BCS national championship winning squad. He again worked with the Tigers under current head coach Gus Malzahn as an offensive analyst and helped with special teams from 2013-15, a stretch where Auburn won the SEC Championship and lost the BCS title game to Florida State.
Mentored by current Seattle Seahawks special teams coordinator Brian Schneider, Jay Boulware now with Oklahoma and Scott Fountain with Georgia, Link has coached some of the better place kickers and punters in the SEC including Daniel Carlson, a 2018 fifth-round NFL Draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings."

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
If our new DC has the resume the rest of the staff has there will be no excuses if App doesn't become a top contender over the next few seasons. This is getting very interesting. What was very shakey in the early part of FBS transition and what Satt did for us, App is a very desirable place to coach.

Can’t we have 10 assistant coaches?? So 11 total spots with HC included. The hiring of a true ST coach does seem to limit a defensive assistant spotComebackShack wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 5:55 pm1. Eliah Drinkwitz HC

If we are waiting on Woody or Woods because they are focused on the bowl game, their focus didn’t look too strong as they are getting beat up on by a bad Minnesota team.

Ten assistant coaching slots are possible...IF the pencil-point is sharp enough to fit all of the salaries in the budget.JROCK98 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:04 pmCan’t we have 10 assistant coaches?? Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread
Not sure if waiting on Woody or not but that is not a lean/speed defense like he had at App. Don't forget his first year at App was not on all cylinders either. That defense he runs took App over a year to get in gear. He has a Wofford transfer there as well leading the D. They said as the game started even the transfer was helping coach those guys on the system.

Not to play the conspiracy theorist, but if the hire is Woody, why has Gasporato not been retained?

Yeah, and no idea if that’s who we’re waiting on, But I do know that Nate hasn’t forgotten how to coach. Would be happy to have him return.ComebackShack wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:23 pmIf we are waiting on Woody or Woods because they are focused on the bowl game, their focus didn’t look too strong as they are getting beat up on by a bad Minnesota team.

Roof's players in Woody's scheme. Think Woody's first year at App when he was trying to fit players recruited to play a 4-3 or 4-2-5 into his 3-4. it took a season and a half to click
