Good afternoon!

First of all let me say that I truly appreciate all you have done for my university. You have been the best AD in our history. I have been nothing but impressed with the hires you have made. However, I do not see how Ted Roof fits our culture. To my knowledge he hasn’t even coached a 3-4 defense. Our defense was top notch this season and incredibly fun to watch. The defense is always my favorite part of the game and this year was amazing. I just don’t see how someone who was about to be fired at GaTech and who State fans are praying that he leaves will be a good fit for us.

Thanks again for all you have done! I am truly grateful and I am hoping these are just rumors and Roof is not our guy.

And you know, it was probably because that's what the HC wanted him to run. Imagine that, a head coach making decisions.

I just hope if the Roof hire goes South, next season, Coach Drink will understand the need to cut bait after an appropriate amount of time.

We have a defensive scheme that works well; don't fix if not broken. Hopeful Roof will conform to and not blow up what we have. He's been in a number of places, and most not long. That is a red flag for me.

But, we'll see if history is proven incorrect. 7 team in 10 years. That speaks for itself.

Remain optimistic. Let's give "The Visor" room to build his staff and team.

Seems that for DJ Smith to remain, that he would have known who the DC is going to be and supported the hire. Hopefully that is a positive.

That being said, none of them seem to be too beat up about it.

I'm like most on here in that I'm not sold on Roof as DC. As long as he's willing to operate out of our existing and established 3-4 scheme I'll give it a shot. I'll try not to imagine a world in which he doesn't.

Me too. I mean, we got a former NFLer and FIUs associate AD to come and be our QB coach. Just bc roof has been a DC before doesn't mean he will be a DC here.
