Nothing beats the either 3 or 4 dogs for $1 at the shell station on 321 back in the 80’s. Mmmm good and cheap late at night.

They made a fortune off of the students coming home from the bars in Blowing Rock, but if you went in the there sober the smell of the hotdogs was unbearable.

I always wonder how much money Cook Out would have gotten from me if they were around when I was in school. Late night options were soooo limited. I would work at the little Harris Teeter and get off late on Fridays/Saturdays- I would walk down to the Subway since they were one of the only places still open for food. They were usually cleaning up and had the registers closed out so they would hook me up with sandwich on the house. I always appreciated those folks for that.

Hi, had Cookout while in Boone. Many, many trips. And the drive through was always busy almost every night until they closed about 2am.

Maybe Trump can serve the Mountaineer football team Cookout during their visit to the White House next year......

Gordon Ramsey supposedly interviewed last week, but this'd be a step down for him. I think he just interviewed out of respect for Drink. We're most likely skipping over Guy Fieri and, realistically with our budget, looking at the guy from that old cake show in New Jersey.

A pick-up bed load of us stopped by there and got supplied with 3 dogs each. The funny part was on the ride back to the apt when dogs started flying and crashed back into the windshield. I will never forget the windshield wipers going with hot dog remnants and ketchup and mustard flying everywhere.

Cook Out - Boone has gone substantially downhill.

Anyone remember when the Taco Bell was torn down for like a year?! It was the summer of 2006 I believe and my girlfriend at the time went to go pick us up some food then called me and said, "Taco Bell is gone...like the building isn't even there" So we had to drive down to Wilkesboro whenever we had the hankering, probably made 10-12 Wilkesboro Taco Bell runs that summer

Hey when you're craving a Crunchwrap Supreme no amount of Dos Amigos or Los Arcoiris will do...Black Cat's White Trash burrito will do in a pinch, but sometimes you just have to Live Más and head down the mountain!
